Are mosquitoes more resistant to cold than they were not long ago?

So many still, flying around like it hasn’t been cold. It’s like the cold doesn’t affect them anymore. Anyone else notice this?

Haven’t seen the first one. Representing the LP.

Empty the water from all of the tires and old appliances strewn about outside of your trailer.

Maybe they are those bill gates mosquitoes

It’s not getting cold enough in the winter to kill them.

Haven’t had a good freeze yet

They are bad by my house, I live on Bayou Lafourche. My theory is when we had the drought, they didn’t have enough water to hatch, since we’ve been getting rain, they got really bad. But I’m not an entomologist.

Sounds like your theory could be true. All I know is they are much worse than they should be for this time of year.

Not cold enough to kill them just cold enough to piss them off. We need a good below 30 degree freeze to really kill them

I see at least 25 mosquitoes per day. It is very annoying this time of year

There are more mosquitos in Canada and Alaska than any place on earth.
The entire cold kills them is total BS

A lot of it could be that the parish/city isn't spraying for them as much this time of year as they do when it's warmer.

How many would you expect to encounter today, if you were to venture outside in canada or alaska?

Went camping. Saw a shite ton of them.
None bit though.
Also, this summer due to excessive heat, didn’t see much if any.
