Are “crazy checks” a real thing or just an urban myth?

I have heard about people in the inner city, specifically around br, trying to score so low on a certain test in hs that they qualify for a government check. I have heard several of these people bragging after “Dey gah der crazy check”. Can anyone here shed some light on this? Would be terrible if true

It is definitely a thing. "They" have all kinds of schemes and things to do and not do.
Living off the govt. is a job itself.

As someone who worked at a loanshark finance company in different areas of New Orleans, I can tell you that crazy checks - or at least that people call them crazy checks - are indeed true.
Asking an applicant about their income "Well I get SSI and crazy checks for all my kids."

People tell their physicians that their kids have add/adhd bc that qualifies them for govt checks.
Ask any doctor that posts here.

Mental disability can be a primary or secondary diagnosis to qualify for SSDI or SSI.

Shockingly, the parents pre-diagnose the kids before birth. They tell the pediatricians their kids are stupid at their initial doctor's visit.

Kibbles could probaly fill you in on crazy checks. She talked about how certain people 8n her family have numerous afflictions. Bet she gets a stack of them.
