When me and my buddy were in dental school and needed a break from studying head/neck anatomy or neuroanatomy, or pharmacology, or whatever real medical course we were taking, we would watch YouTube videos from chiropractors and laugh hysterically about the bullshite they would spew.

It is complete and utter nonsense. A 10 year could make up things more believable than some of the things they would say.

There are a lot of people who are doctors in the medical field but they don’t have a MD.

A Podiatrist is a doctor but not a MD. They do not go to medical school. And Podiatrist perform surgery.

A Dentist is a doctor but not a MD.

A Pharmacist has a doctrine degree and is a doctor but not a MD.

MD doctors like to think they own the word doctor but they don’t. Get a PHD in chemistry and you have every legal right to prefer to yourself as a doctor because you are.

My chiropractors have always been great and I recommend them highly.

I only go when I’ve done something stupid and am in pain. 2-3 visits and I’m back in action. Shoulders, neck, back, elbow, wrists. Whatever.

They’ve never said any mumbo jumbo pseudo medical sounding words but apparently some do.

As someone who takes their health seriously, I consider them a Dr. just like my ENT.

Here is her second adjustment. This time she’s wearing black yoga pants and a tight black tank top. She’s smoking!

2nd adjustment.

The cardiac arrest person should be begging for a nurse or a paramedic because they handle more cardiac arrest patients than anyone. They won’t be begging for a Dermatologist because they are a MD.

I went to a couple of different chiropractors (one in Denver and one in New Orleans). The one in Denver was a complete whack job that had signs in the office claiming that chiropractors could cure things from muscle/joint pain all the way to sinus infections and allergies. I went there twice to try and get relief in my back and shoulders and quit going because they were trying to get my girlfriend to get adjusted as well and it was just annoying and creepy (the chiropractor was a lady in her mid-50s). She kept making comments about how if we were to get adjusted 'together' it would make our sex lives better and other shite like that.

The chiropractor in New Orleans was great. He never claimed that 'getting adjusted' could cure things and that he just wanted to help people not be in pain or to greatly lessen the pain. After I told him about my Denver chiropractor visits he said he couldn't stand those kind of places because it really makes the chiropractor industry look more like a snake oil industry than what it is (to simply make adjustments).

I get why people don't like/trust chiropractors but that one really helped me and I probably should go back to see him. It would probably prolong the inevitability of getting 6-8 shots in my back or some surgery.

Yeah I dont have much of an opinion on chiros, other than the ones that push multiple a week sessions. If it's just an adjustment need then adjust, and move on.

BUT "real reg doctors" arent that much more impressive to be honest. Push meds after talking to you a bit isnt that much better than googling it yourself.

Now surgical repair level docs are different.

I don’t really trust traditional medicine that much either.

My chiropractor not only brought me relief from pain but showed me stretches and talked about habits and posture that cause the stress to begin with. Went from considerable chronic pain and weekly visits to occasional pain and about 4 visits a year. In my experience, a chiro can def change one's life for the better. Just a matter of finding the right one. I doubt insurance would cover it if it was complete BS.

I spent over two decades in healthcare; while there, I learned the value of the power of suggestion and the placebo effect. If someone truly believes something will make them well, it often works even if there’s no quantitative data to back it.

I hold Chiropractors in particularly low regard only because I grew up near Life College which is the epicenter of chiropractic degrees nationwide.

Seeing them tell people they make the blind see and the deaf hear was positively nauseating. People needing legitimate medical treatment were being diverted to Chiropractic. It was sad, and people were dying because of it.

I don’t discount that their treatments may offer relief from a multitude of conditions. I do call bullshite when someone says a disease like hypertension can be fixed with an “adjustment”.

Are they real Doctors? frick no... Most are brainwashed imbeciles barely capable of composing a complete thought. Are MD’s that much better? We can address that at another time.

No their not an MD

But they do have extensive training in bodily joint manipulation

If you have a joint or joints out of alignment causing pain or discomfort a high percentage of the time a DC can resolve it

I know I feel better after an adjustment

Dunno depends and how severe of an adjustment? I always assumed they were a glorified masseuse.
