So this is what my $5 to have a dress down day every week is going to?
Wait until they hit HS age.
Just paid $150 for a club trip to a regional convention. Convention fee, charter bus, and 1 night in a Holiday Inn room with 3 other kids - and they have to pay for their own meals.
Someone is making a profit.

You can have any kind of system you want, and provide safeguards, but it won’t stop evil, unethical people from abusing it.

Seems like I’ve been seeing this more often. These schools pop up in the hood,
Maybe the charter school isn't the problem, but the people running it are.
Public schools have waste and fraud too.

Ron Haley - we all know that scumbag, who says these allegations are "outrageous, egregrious and preposterous", excuses the whole thing because the organization she funneled the money to is a private organization run by her and her husband and thus outside the scope of a public audit
I wonder what his fee was to help them set-up this private company

Damnit, Chakesha. Why is it always people with strange names committing these crimes that hurt mostly black people. I’m willing to bet Michelle Obama’s testicles that Chakesha is a wypipo.

Who could have predicted this??!!
All of the charter schools are doing this. That is why they exist.
The problem isnt the school, its who is leading the school

Impact Charter School is taking a stand against unjust and discriminatory actions that are delaying our charter renewal.
When you put black women in charge and they have this, I'm owed this, it's our turn now attitude, this is what happens.
Our state does the right thing here, audits the school before they renew it's charter. The CEO is claiming discrimination, but really she's just a thief playing the race card.

Like anything.. it depends on the who.

Why the hell was there no audit measures in place?

Lots of black women really can't be trusted with power

If you are speaking internal audit, you buy the person a Tesla or range rover, maybe renovate their house.
quote:
-The CEO spent $166,520 in school money on an Acura MDX and a Land Rover Velar she and a daughter used;
-The CEO spent $129,493 to improve a building the school did not own;
quote:
Some of the money diverted to FICS, for example, ultimately benefited Scott and a daughter. FICS records showed Scott take $42,371 the same day she and her daughter bought a used Tesla for the same amount.
You keep the other 2 million.
The legislative audit is what found this.

Not reading all 173 pages of the LLA's report, but looks like her primary way of funneling money out of the school was to send it to companies that appeared legitimate on the surface and were not subjected to audits. Those companies would then kick back payments to her and her sister or give cash. Cannot tell from my cursory review, but her sister was either in position to approve these payments or was involved in the board that helped influence approval of the payments.

The reduction in regulations and red tape is one of the things ga that allows sone charter schools to be successful. But it can also allow nefarious people to do things like this..
Someone needs to look at how this group was given a charter in the first place.

she needs to cut her losses
suing the LLA and Attorney General is not a smart move, now she will be burdened with legal costs
