Are automatic faucets the worst development of the last 20 years?

These things suck. They either don't work at all, or never stay on long enough. They used to only be in airports, but now they're everywhere. Were we really wasting that much water before? I don't think giving me control of how long I need to rinse my hands is going to drain our lakes.

Its a germ thing moreso than a water wasting thing.

At least in my office building it is. They had a big "hands-free" shift for everything to limit office place viruses/illnesses from spreading.

The automatic paper towel dispensers are worse. It sends out one sheet then you have to wait for it to read your hand again and again.

I get the germ thing, but I just use my arm to turn the faucet. I'd rather not have to wave my hands in the sink like a retard just to get water.
