Bro, you need to start bagging ice and selling to people. That's a lot of ice.

Speed Queen.
I bought my wife a Speed Queen washer & Dryer set about 4-5 years ago. So far *knock on wood* they’re going strong.
But, from what I can tell, almost all other major appliances are, for all intents and purposes, disposable now. Doesn’t matter how much you spend, they suck. In fact, from my experience, the more you spend to get all the bells and whistles, the faster they take a giant shite.

or has unnecessary electronics.
Amusingly, the only device I've had give me issues is my (seven year old) Maytag dryer, and that was a wholly mechanical timer assembly (though easily replaced). At this point, I almost think some things like that would be better digital

My SIL has a Snow King that had to have the compressor replaced twice.

I have an electrician in BTR. Let me know.
Thank you, I do appreciate that. Unfortunately, I probably couldn't afford the travel charge. I'm just a little north of BTR. (980 miles).

And in many cases they aren't worth getting repaired unless you can do it yourself.
I stupidly went to Best Buy and bought LG front loaders and a fridge when we moved here. I did zero research.
Well, the washer and dryer had issues that were a little beyond my YouTube skills. It turns out most repair guys won't even work on LG. I got quoted $700 for an issue with the washer. I paid $800 for it new

I tossed them and went and bought Speed Queens.
I just had enough of the fridge after new door seals, cracked shelves, 3 ice makers in 9 years. It technically still did its most basic function of getting cold when I had it hauled off.

yeah, i've installed a couple of the drier repair kits and replaced the heater element and what i think is called the control harness or something like that.
i will attempt to fix most things before i pay someone.
i've replaced 2 ice makers in the last 10 yrs.

Install surge protectors. I had a client who was losing appliances and computers fairly often. I installed Eaton whole house surge protectors in both panels, and he added plug-in type surge protectors at all appliances and computers. That was a couple of years ago, and he hasn’t had any problems since.

Certain brands last.
A speed queen washer or Caital oven will last decades.

Are any fridges good these days?

Just had our under warranty 2 year old $4k Electrolux fridge replaced yesterday after arguing over it with Electrolux for the last 8 months. Freezer started going out, high temp warnings after the first 11 months. They tried to fix it forever before saying it was unrepairable.
Electrolux argued with me to get the repair people out to fix it every time I called, saying only had 1 year warranty even though it has a 2-5 year closed refrigeration warranty. They want to make the experience so terrible that you give up but 11 months for a $4k fridge I couldnt in good conscience give up and buy something else. I was going scorched earth.
FYI, I didnt want Electrolux anyway but 2 years ago it was the only fridge in stock that fit our kitchen, everything else was 6 months delay or more.
I think all appliances suck now, some worse than others but the days of 25 year old fridges, dishwashers, dryers are over.

Have you had mixer valves fail on the washing machines? We have limey water (our well intercepts limstone caverns) and ice makers also accumulate lime precipitate.

yep. We ended up getting a similar but different, and it's smaller by a couple of cu. ft. I hated having to adjust down, but we waste less now because there's less food there and harder to overlook what IS there.

Could get costly, let us know what you find. Best of luck.

Great thing about gas, very few electronic parts to crap out and even if the igniters fail I can still strike a match until I get a replacement part.
I was getting tired of my JennAire propane cooktop needing matches and I started getting unpredictable blow outs.
I couldn't find anything that would fit the six burner space.
BUT I found an appliance parts place on line that sold replacement units that would sub for a two burner. I bought one. It worked like a dream and after five months has never had a blow out.
So I bought a second one for the next most often used burners. I then bought a pen whose ink is white paint and I repainted the knobs because the lo-med-high were all but worn off.
I'm happy and I didn't have to learn to cook on a new cooktop.

I know the answer here is to buy a Speed Queen with an agitator and smaller capacity, but even the reviews on those aren’t great lately. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that the old one we have lasts until I can make up my mind.
Yep, but I've had no trouble with my LG washer and dryer. The first LG washer I had (a front load) lasted us for 15 years and even then, it just had a small leak that could have been fixed. I had just never owned a matching washer/dryer set and really wanted to buy a new set then.
I much prefer the front loads and have had no trouble with it if you leave the door open and wipe out the rubber seal every few months or so. Agitators are very hard on your clothes and my front load got stains out of my clothes that the old Kenmore with an agitator never would.
