of having something in your pocket that can do most things a laptop can do? sometimes better

I don't have to print out a boarding pass, its on my phone.
I don't have to stop at the bank, I can just take a picture of the check and deposit it that way.
I pay all my bills with my phone.

You can't deny having a super computer in your pocket isn't convenient.

Agreed and there's phones under $300 that can do that with no problem. The prices they're charging for premium phones now is outrageous.

btw what kind of phone do you have?

I have a Google Pixel that I paid $115 for on craigslist a few months ago

The limiting factor is the interface, not speed or power. Make a phone that seamlessly docks with a full size keyboard and monitor and we'll talk.

I would imagine that's next. I can and do everything on my phone I can do on my laptop. I'd be nice to get to work and just dock your phone at the office.

True, but the majority of people buying this will use it primarily for social media and status.

Best part about it is you get to pay over a grand for your own personal government tracking device.

I had an HTC One M7 about 6 years ago or so. Think they cost about 350 back then (like literally 350). That was still the best looking smart phone I've ever had. Since then I've had several Galaxies, I think 5, 6 then 8.

Honestly I cant tell much difference in speed or performance from that HTC 5 or 6 years ago. Sure a webpage loads a half second faster and a picture is a tiny bit clearer, but there just isnt that much difference. And an HTC M7 is about $90 these days.

I had the HTC M8, probably my favorite phone ever. But they were 650 off contract. I'm sure the M7 was about the same.

Yeah I loved those HTC phones. I switched to Galaxies when they and HTC both released their new phone about 3 or 4 years ago and every review was in favor of the galaxy. Frankly I was pissed. I really really wanted the reviews to tell me HTC or be neutral so I could get the HTC. They just all said Galaxy was better though.

Still should have stuck with HTC One. Best looking smart phone ever with the best speakers ever. And shite, I cant really tell the difference in a nanosecond faster or a tiny bit better camera anyway.

You can drive anywhere a BMW will go in a Kia, yet there is still a market for high end cars, no different with smart phones or any other product. No one is forced to buy this iPhone, the market will decide if its priced correctly, that's the beauty of capitalism.

I just upgraded my old iPhone 6+ 12 GB for a brand new (not refurbished) 6+ 32 GB. Didn’t cost me a dime. Could have got a 8 or 10 for a few hundred bucks. But I figured why spend the money when the 6+ does everything I want.

(In case you’re wondering how I got a new phone for free, I work for Cat and they’ll pay up to $150 for our phones. Anything over that comes out of our pocket)

$1100-1250 for something you’ll use every day for the next 3-4 years (if you take care of it like an adult). That doesn’t seem too unreasonable.
