I do enjoy the polite indian families that are thankful for the opportunities this country provides them.

They believe in multi generation homes. Both parents are usually present. The kids are respectful and well educated. The daughters are usually good looking. The parents take care of their homes.

So what they eat Curry. Indian food is actually delicious.

If you think there's a future for the Republican party in the US moving forward with these demographic trends, then I have a great deal on real estate for you.

i sincerely think Trump will be the last republican president. i MAGA and all that, but if you think the republicans are going to gain more power from here on out, you're not paying attention.

and i'm not blaming republicans or saying a move to the left as a nation is a horrible thing ( i don't agree with liberal/progressive policies at all.)

A case in point from the last election. i was out running in my neighborhood and a guy was walking his dogs. i stopped to pet them and talked to their owner for a bit as he mentioned he was new to the neighborhood. Long story short, he was from California, moved to Austin for a better job and economy. Blatantly said taxes were getting outrageous. He liked Austin, but it got to cost to much and traffic was terrible so he moved to my town about 45 miles north. Enjoyed the slower life and lower cost of living. A week later i saw him walking his dogs again and saw him walking into his house that had a Beto sign and the democrat running for house sign.

A small sampling, but i came away pretty amazed. now i'm not judging him. i find it ironic and misguided, but we're all free to support who we want and i'm not going to think less of you for political ideals (unless they're hateful to me personally.) Here is a guy that HAS to know that Democrats and leftist policies made it too burdensome to live in CA. He moves to the most liberal city in TX and then sees the same thing, moves to one of reddest counties in TX and then throws up democrat signs again.

He doesn't care about taxes and the economic side of things. It officially is no longer "the economy, stupid."

I make that assumption from conversations with other friends that were supporting Beto and didn't care that he was against the tax cuts that i know they were happy to receive. They supported Beto because he was optimistic and socially checked all the things that make them feel good about themselves for supporting. Never mind that Beto was an absolute dunce about the economy every time it came up. Even the NYT and every other rag said he lost on facts when he and Cruz debated. I brought up to some friends Beto's stances on immigration and health care and they were completely ignorant that he was pushing medicare for all and to grant that to anybody that comes across the border. They had 0 idea how that was paid for. But Beto wants to make sure everybody is taken care of and that's cool to them.

and that's fine. if we turn to be a more socialist country, then that's what happens. i won't like it and i won't vote for it, but as a Christian, i know that i'm going to outlive several presidencies. and while i like keeping my money and giving it away at my own discretion, it's just money.

You’re responding to a guy who would rather live in an economically stagnant state and city, ridden with corruption and crime than a city that attracts the best and brightest tech minds. All because they may not be white and republican. Just let it go. He’s a fricking moron.

I’ll admit to being right but not far right.

And ten thousand jobs and a billion dollars in Texas is meaningless when the alternative is a complete landslide in every foreseeable election for the democrats. They would have New York, California and Texas. Goodbye constitutional rights and hello socialism.

i work in the tech industry and i have met dozens and dozens of people that have moved here from California.

2.

2 of them have said they came here as a conservative. one made the statement that he was really excited this year because the person he voted for in a state race actually won for the first time in his life.

i am in the opposite of a bubble and i can say without embellishing that 90% of people moving here from California keep voting the exact same way they did, republican or democrat.

At 13 to 15 id agree with you.

9 isnt the most comfortable. You have to look at all your import and export variables (as they tell Chemical Engineers).

You are importing a large amount of Democratic leaning productive workforce. You are also importing legalized Hispanics who may vote Democratic. The number who overstayed Visas is more than the illegals.

9 percent of the turnout voters (low turnout because Texas is always red.) comes out to around 1.4 million vote difference which equates to around the entire population of Hawaii or New Hampshire

Not to mention even if you somehow close that gap and keep the same turnout numbers to give a democratic side a chance, it would still have to go through actually winning the electoral college of the state, which would always still turn up red

We will all be long dead before Republicans ever have to even think about sweating Texas

Vacant empty land doesn't vote. People do. That map, just like the nationwide one, is VERY misleading.

I'll keep my fingers crossed. We have a few decent spots for Indian but there is room for improvement.

I wish Austin had something like Buford Hwy in Atlanta with all of the ethnic food. We could use some more authentic Korean, Thai, and Vietnamese as well.
