Dang Austin is hard enough to move around in now.

Better live close to where you work and play.

Texas going blue soon unfortunately. Californy liberals moving to Austin.

The Koch Brothers need to start quietly funding Republicans moving to California. It'll be a great state once the liberals are gone.

Georgia is, too. If Texas and Georgia both fall, the country is finished. It's one-party rule from there on out.

It is just funny that the consistent reaction to a $1 billion economic investment in Austin is "omg, liberals".

i was just being a smartass. but i'm a texas resident and in the IT industry.

always happy to see industry coming to Texas instead of a surrounding state. Just wouldn't catch me working for Apple or living in Austin for that reason.

Exactly. Take a look at some of the GDP and economic leaders, they’re more than likely to be in a blue state/city than a red state/city.

ehhh, maybe. but i bet most of said "GDP and economic leaders" were started/founded when those states were red state/cities (minus Cali, obviously).

why would they purposely inflict higher corporate taxes on themselves?

low tax and regulatory environments vs higher taxes and a more measured approach to offering taxpayer incentives. it's not nearly as black and white as you are suggesting

Meanwhile Cali is talking about taxing text messaging. Businesses are moving out because of the already onerous state taxation so they decide to double down?

Only a fool believes things like this.

People made statements like this in 2008 and 2012 “The GOP will never win another election”. And 2016 (GOP has the Midwest, Democrats are finished)

Things change, it’s cyclical. And no party is going to hold a monopoly on political power for any substantial length of time.

The current political dichotomy will die when Trump leaves office.

The top 10 states for job growth aren't predominately blue at all. It's majority red states

1. Idaho
2. Utah
3. Nevada
4. Texas
5. Washington
6. Colorado
7. Arizona

9. North Carolina
10. Oregon

Thanks for the data. Perhaps I’m asserting more of a micro level rather than macro
