know you think you’re cute with your quirky comments and ridiculous threads but this latest of yours once again shows that you just don’t get how it feels to have any sort of threat level out there to your own offspring. It’s not the end of the world but having your kid potentially exposed to this level of evil is a pretty sickening feeling. You’re just you right now and consumed with yourself as many are so just keep it at that and keep your stupid comments to yourself

I mean, have you tried actually raising your kids instead of sticking an iPad in their face and shoving sugar-pops down their throats?

Your kid isn’t being threatened. You have complete control over whether he/she/they have access to watch a retarded video. You sound like a Facebook mom

o no proof still? It's being shared relentlessly, yet no one took a video of this Momo character on YouTube Kids?

I’m not disagreeing with you that social media has blown it up, but my kindergarteners teacher called us today because my 5 year old was talking about ‘momo’ with another girl or 2 in the class. We have a 9 year old neighbor she plays with that apparently showed her some stuff on her phone about some ‘scary mask telling her to jump up and down’. So I have no idea how real it is, but my daughter saw something real enough.

I’m not worried about it at all personally, but the shite is real to some degree.

Are you really asking for us to have 5-8 year olds have video evidence? Each of my daughters has an amazon tablet they got for Christmas they use probably 2 hours a week. They love to watch that BS about Disney and the other shows they like on YouTube kids.

My wife has nixed that now.

No, not at all.

However, if these videos exist before they're deleted, an adult is flagging them. That adult never thought to record this massive failure?

As I told my wife, I'm 100% confident Momo is only a thing because adults share it on social media. It's like a self fulfilling prophecy.

So I’m making up the fact my daughters teacher called us yesterday? All she said was my daughter was talking about it and she felt the parents should know.

My daughter found out about it through a friend. What she saw exactly or knows I don’t know. But to some degree it’s very real and kids are discussing it.

I agree it’s blown out of proportion. But it’s a thing, not sure what else you want me to say?

That's most likely because her parents (read mom) talked to her about it.

You think so huh? How well did this theory hold up from you finding porn? What age did you see your first naked lady? Did your parents not have 100% control over what you had access to? If it’s not an IPad or IPhone or internet it’s always going to be something. It just is a crappy feeling to not be able to 100% protect your kids from bad shite. But that’s life. All you can do is hopefully make them aware of what is good vs what is bad. I’m not picking sides here but unless you have kids then you have no clue.

My neighbor has basicallly no parental involvement. The dad doesn’t live there and her mom lives with her grandmother. They are nice enough, but they certainly are not ones to proactively talk about this.

The teacher called because she heard the kids talking about it in the classroom.

Again, I’m not saying it isn’t overblown but I’m just saying some kids have seen some videos. Likely a very small portion compared to the parental outrage, but the idea it’s 100% fake is wrong. Somewhere in the middle like 90% fake lol.

The OT is littered with Internet badasses, it is why we come here.

The Momo thing did pop up before in other social media and it recently made a jump to Youtube.

The videos do get flagged and removed quickly, but they should never make it there in the first place. Youtube kids is littered with questionable content, Google should be more proactive before a video is uploaded.

Momo is just one, but there are many others. Pay attention to your kids and have convserations with them.

If you do not, they may end up like the many Internet idiots of the OT.

The moral of the story is to pay attention to what your kids watch. Kids have too much screen time as it is so if this reduces it and gets them to play, great!

correct

only in mythology and moral panic

even the YT videos about "MoMo" are people using "other social media", primarily Whatsap

and for like 2 years people have been looking for these videos and not one has ever been recorded

there is more evidence that Bigfoot exists

No of course not. I'm saying that your daughter's friend didn't find out about it while watching a Peppa Pig youtube clip with Momo spliced in.

Think about the YouTube algorithms that choose the next video. Now, think about how often it throws up a video with less that 1k views.

This shite is not happening to random kids on YouTube Kids. It's simply not happening in that manner.

I have listened to Dr. Drew Pinsky in various forms since I was a teen and I value his opinion. He stated on a podcast that there is active cyber warfare on our children and their mental health and it’s happening through YouTube kids. This is by foreign governments and he named Russia. They are attacking our children with pron, violence, drug use etc
