We Methodists are Episcopal Lite. We mostly get single serve cups of communion wine, though there are times that they break off a piece of bread and let us dip in it the communal chalice. Not completely sanitary but moreso than 200 people drinking out of the same cup.

I know. I used to be Methodist. I came to the conclusion that the denomination in the last couple of decades was moving to trying to be all things to all people, and got to where it meant nothing to me. I decided to go with something that was more comfortable and definitive in theological doctrine.
However, I would not put down anyone who decided to pursue a different denomination.

i like their diversity and open minds. Sure beats that So. Baptist Church that my old gf dragged me to.

First off...to the OP it's Communion wine (or grape juice) NOT community wine and it represents the blood of Jesus Christ. The bread represents his body.
I find it very amusing that people not wanting to drink after one another are some of the same people who own dogs/cats that very frequently lick their own butt trying to clean themselves. These same folks often let the animal lick them in the face, mouth etc.

Lutheran here, too. We have a choice of the little shot glasses or the common cup. Like I said earlier, I usually choose the common cup because I like the idea of all us being one family.

Raised Protestant here, married a devout Catholic from a devout Catholic family. I find it amazing that "some" Catholics believe a cracker can be converted into the flesh of Christ by ringing a bell. I believe that 90% of them are just going through the motions.

You should actually study what Catholics believe about transubstantiation. Accidents would be a key word. Question though: was Jesus God? Do you think if you looked at Jesus, he would look like God? Looks, feels and tastes are irrelevant. He obviously bled and was mortal and confined to a physical body, unlike God which is omnipresent spirit. He was born unlike God that is immortal. The heresy of gnosticism has crept into Protestantism, an aversion to physical miracles.
