I thought people have faith in God not the Catholic Church. You are confused.

Are the two mutually exclusive? I have faith that Jesus established the Catholic Church. How do you suppose one learns about God?

Some people think the idea of getting germs from communion wine is blasphemy.

Me, I've been drinking from the "common cup" for years with no problems. I like the feeling of community.

For those here who call themselves Christians and don't believe that it is Christ's true body and blood, then y'all probably aren't Christians at all. Because then we would have to get into that whole rising from the dead thing. And the thing about Jesus is God. Because how can the Almighty God be contained in man called Jesus? And then we would have to talk about the whole word of God thing. For example, "Let there be light." Because if you believe that God is all powerful and that Jesus is God, and when God says something such as, "Let there be light," why would anyone have a problem with Jesus saying, This is my body and This is my blood?

My wife and me, along with our children attended church for the very first time in a while. Both of us commented, almost at the same time, how nasty this is.

And then at the very end of communion, we watch a guy down the remaining wine.

I like the Baptist church idea. Everyone gets a little cup of grape juice

We Episcopalians drink from a common cup, but someone else has control of the cup and the wine (generally port) just does touch your lips.

We are Catholic, yet Protestant.

Before you go to making too much fun of us, last time I looked our denomination is among the most affluent, educated, and social/politically influential.
