Anything else going around besides Covid?

Lost my taste and smell and have a wicked cough. Took a PCR test and it came back negative.

Same, but 2 negatives and yet my Dr. said I have covid, so there's that.

Same happened to me in April 2021. I had no taste, smell...dry cough, headache. Negative test.

Probably the ‘Covid-like illness’ they reference in all of the press conference. I think it goes something like this
Dr 1: What did the test say?
Dr. 2: it’s negative
Dr. 1: symptoms?
Dr. 2: cough, congestion, loss of taste/smell
Dr. 1: Must be Covid. Mark another tally on the board

RSV is supposedly bad this year. If your kid tests positive for COVID and dies of RSV it was COVID, though.

RSV is bad right now. I had RSV a few weeks ago, which became sinusitis, then bronchitis, and now my asthma has flared up (and I hadn’t had to use an inhaler for several years prior). The cough was brutal and incessant. Covid test was negative. I am fully vaxxed and have no comorbidities other than asthma from years ago. The doctor prescribed a z-pack, methylprednisolone, and albuterol. They are helping. Already the cough is only flaring up when I exercise, and I can control that with the inhaler.
Strangely enough, when I asked the doctor if I should be wearing a mask when I go out in public, he told me no—not with my asthma and bronchitis. It definitely wasn’t the answer I expected from him, but no mask sounds great to me. Now I have a medical reason to remain unmasked. I guess that’s the silver lining to the lingering complications from RSV.
To answer your question, yes, there is more than just Covid going around. RSV is widespread. My niece also had it.

My daughter and nieces had a really bad cough last week. I was around them the whole time. We all tested negative last Thursday.

From what I read, PCRs rarely give false positives but have 50% chance of a false negative. I’d just buy the kit from CVS and take both of them. Two negatives would be a good sign
Edit - I meant rapid test and not PCR

Not sure but I just read The Second Coming by William Butler Yeats and it blew my mind. I strongly recommend you read it and then ponder.
