You can thank the environmentalist for that...

Subtle "My wife drives a Volvo" brag

When I go from my manual to her auto it’s just off putting. We live where it’s flat, so I just leave my feet off of the pedals when I’m stopped in mine...and I see there on behind me has stopped.
I just always thought a centrifugal clutch would work great to disengage the auto trans and stop it from going forward...but there’s obviously wear issues with that approach.

2020 RDX ASPEC package. She like it best over Audi Q5 and Mercedes GLC.

My manual jeep has hill start assist. It keeps you from rolling backward when you let off the brake. It's great for learning stick but it throws you off if you're used to the vehicle rolling back a bit before taking off.
This. I test drove my Jeep and looked like a moron because I didn't know break assist existed.

My wife ended up with the Volvo out of that class, mostly due to both the exterior and interior styling. Safety, engine, size...all was a wash. She was coming from a sports sedan, so performance in all of them were lacking.

On a side note Saint, are you in the BR area? If so, where do you get your Mini serviced?
Not in BR, sorry I can't help.

Anyone’s vehicle have automatic brake hold?
And with a pretty aggressive regen braking system, my car is pretty much 1 pedal driving 99.9% of the time.
It's truly a gamechanger.

This is a cool feature that my 87 Pontiac 6000 did not have and on the way to school one day at a red light I idled & rear ended someone, I was still so used to driving stick that just taking my foot off the break in a automatic car... I was not ready for that.

Was this on MLK in Houma? If so I was the Tahoe behind you calling you a dumbass.

Automatic brake hold?
Starting to become standard on most newer car models.
wife's '17 CRV has this. When we first had the vehicle, was using this all time (stop lights, etc). Whenever, I'd go back to my vehicle, I would absentmindedly forget that I didn't have and would let off the brake all time while driving.
My new car has it, but it also has the auto shut off "feature" too. So a little more annoying.
