This is a free app. I’ve used it numerous times and have gotten enormous discounts on some meds.

How does this app work and where do the discounts come from and how are businesses making money with such large discounts (at least some of the meds I’ve gotten. I’m sure ALL meds aren’t the same). I hate that I’m sounding like I’m endorsing this app, but I’m just curious on how they make money and where do pharmaceutical companies get their money when the meds are discounted so much.

All I know is that it allows people with no insurance to afford the medications they need. It’s a good app.

Never heard of it but

Jesus. I haven't paid more than $5 for a prescription. Most times they're free. Is this for people with no insurance?

Tamiflu without insurance costs around $400. Certain antibiotics cost over $200.

Well, I’m sure you’re not on heart meds or any significant drug other than antibiotics.

I’ve paid $200 for some meds before. Found this app and it knocked it down to $50. And I have excellent insurance.

But for the most part, I would think that it’s mainly for people without insurance. Pharmaceutical companies love to frick people.

Used it for a while. Mostly for drugs my crappy health insurance didn’t cover. My Walmart eventually stopped accepting it, and I got better insurance.

Have no idea how it works, but I saved a few hundred dollars by using it. Basically, the pharmacy has a cash price of, like, $40 for an RX, but if you look up the drug and get the code from within GoodRX, the price goes down to $20. Savings vary, but prices drop considerably using the app.

I’ve not used the app but I have the card. It’s helped get a higher tiered prescription down to a manageable cost for me, so I’d definitely recommend it even with insurance.

These were what I was thinking. People with serious issues that have expensive prescriptions or those without insurance. Seems like a cool app.

I have used it once for buprenorphine when my insurance said it needed time to get me a pre authorization. Saved me like 150$

For my first refill of each year I get on every manufacturers website and download their coupons. It saves me a ton of money over the first six months of the year and what I don't have to pay still counts towards my deductible.

Example - Lantus Solostar Coupons

Jardiance Coupon

Just depends on the meds really. If generic is available, etc.

I’m about to order my fertility meds.....5k out of pocket. Insurance doesn’t cover. And that isn’t all the meds I will need.
