I’ve unsubscribed to this company 5x in the last month and still get their emails.

Where’s da email version of the Do Not Call list?

That just lets them know it is a good email address.

I think you’re on to something.

It’s like answering a spam call

All that does is notify them that you read their email. Hence, why they continue to send them

This is absolutely correct. Just block/ add to your spam list instead.

Yes. I emailed the Donald Trump campaign three years ago. I unsubscribed two years ago. I’m still getting them from all his cabinet members and advisors. They regularly ask me for advice. I always respond with nudes of Ivanka please then I’ll release sensitive information.

yep...an e-mail that is active is worth more on the spam market than one with no verification....unsubscribing only prompts more spam.

I usually just delete them. Way easier than worrying about unsubscribing.

Yes. I recently unsubscribed to 7 online companies that I have shopped with and had purchased items. Several continue to send the emails.

Create a filter and auto archive the messages.

If you unsubscribe from one, they will sell your email to 5 more.

I've only had that happen once, with Home Advisor. I don't know how I got on their list. I called them and threatened them with legal action. No more emails.
