How is it legal? Sold in gas stations apparently.

Botanic Tonics website if you want to see what it is.

Free Press had a story this week on how addictive it is.

Question:

Those boys who OD’d at Ole Miss were found to have a bunch of Kratom. Is that what killed them?

DEA Schedules Synthetic 7-OH—Not Natural Kratom Leaf Effective July 6, 2026

The DEA has announced its plan to temporarily place concentrated synthetic 7-hydroxymitagynine (7-OH) and three related substances into Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act (CSA). Importantly, the agency clarified that botanical kratom products containing only naturally occurring trace levels of 7-OH below the specified threshold are not the focus of this action, drawing a clear distinction between traditional natural kratom leaf and dangerous concentrated synthetic 7-OH products.
quote:

Crucially, the DEA's scheduling applies only to products containing concentrated, unnatural levels of 7-OH — NOT products that contain natural kratom leaf like feel free CLASSIC. Dried kratom leaf is a natural, whole-plant product harvested from the Southeast Asian tropical tree known as Mitragyna speciosa. Natural kratom leaf enjoys inherent consumer trust through centuries of safe use, commonly consumed in forms such as capsules, powders, teas, and liquid suspensions. Concentrated synthetic 7-OH products bear absolutely no resemblance to the natural kratom leaf products that are used by more than 23 million Americans.

actual kratom, not the synthetic fake bullshite they sell in gas stations, is perfectly fine if taken properly and in moderation.

Can it be bad if you get addicted to it? Yeah
Can it be bad if you take like 50x the dose you're supposed to? Yeah

But if you just take it liek a normal person it's amazing and pretty fricking awesome. I took it for many years and loved every minute of it. Had to quit though because i did get addicted lol. I know my limits.
