I’ve never been banned but I pretty well stick to some pretty non-political, niche forums.

Grief Support, several fitness subreddits, several watch subreddits, a few others. I rarely see political posts of any kind on the subs I frequent. Sure the political subs will dogpile dissenting views, but that's the internet, including this site. It's easy enough to avoid unless you're just looking for a fight.

I keep getting banned for joking.
This is what got me banned the last time! I can't remember exactly what I said, but all I did was ask a question about something that people were talking about. I'll give an example.

Person 1: "Blueberries are great."
Person 2: "I like strawberries, but blueberries are great too."
Me: "Yes, but are blueberries great?"

BANNED. Take your joking elsewhere, troll.

WTF, how can you not avoid posting about politics?

I post on multiple watch, woodworking, tool, 3D printing, climbing, backpacking, etc forums, and never once have I even thought there was a need to get remotely political. Many of the ones I post on make political posts verboten... which could be part of your issue.

my all time fave in this respect was in a sub on old cartoons, and in the middle of a thread about Daffy Duck some guy posted how he was trying to make the sub safe for LGBT+ posters and fight against homophobia in old Looneytunes

Exactly.

I think they monitor your voting as well and if it’s too much the wrong way they find a way to ban you.

I’ve never wanted to post on Reddit

It reminds me of going into a TJ Maxx/Marshall’s type store - there are some good deals, but everything is all over the place and a mess - and plenty of undesirables in there

But then again, I was banned from my neighborhood’s Nextdoor, so who am I to say

Used to be fairly active until I got banned for posting something that was common sense being twisted into medical advice by the mods

there is no point to a social conservative posting about politics on Reddit. Eventually, you will be banned

Agree more or less. It’s more moderate the way it should be, just the right wing posts stick out more because leftist programming (I can’t believe he posted that!).

It’s political even when you’re trying hard NOT to be political. If haven’t seen it, it’s bizarre.

My second to last ban.
Person travelling to Ireland for the first time, asks how to act. I think it was r/NewOrleans or something.

I said “Be respectful and kind, but if some bloke steps up to ya, knock his block off.”

Banned 10 days.

Pretty easy. Just don't say stupid shite you wouldn't say to someone standing right in front of you.

I got banned for making a veiled comment about how a pedo should be executed.
It was a video of a guy sniffing the chair where a pre-teen girl had just been sitting.
Goes to show you it’s likely pedos running all the subs

I’ll post some screenshots to cure your disbelief if the same sentiment from other trusted posters isn’t good enough for you.

the difference is on TD there is a group of progleft posters who've been spouting off 10-15 yrs or more

If you are a conservative arguing politics on Reddit you are on borrowed time

Nope. I lasted about 10 days for asking what I thought was an innocuous question. Now all I do is read AITA and MaliciousCompliance in private mode. Nobody cares about a slightly diverging opinion, it's not worth it.

Every other post starts with "I'm neurodivergent" (you can't take feedback without crashing out like a pussy,) and similar shite. It's tiring. At least AITA is flooded with Asians, which have an entirely different culture than 1/2 the posters on TD (very societally focused, super deferential to parental authority to the detriment of their own adult lives, etc.)

Next you’re reading r/interesting and fricktard topics are like “Isn’t it interesting how much Trump [insert tard comment]?”

Yeah, the main subs have gotten horrible with "What are your thoughts on Trump doing XYZ?". They never used to have that sort of stuff.
