Anyone Refuse to Use Self Checkout

I believe that you should get a 5% discount or earn points for using self checkout at stores. There is no benefit to the consumer other than checking out faster. More and more stores are reducing check out lanes and forcing you to use self checkout.
To beat them at their own game, If I'm forced to use self checkout, I always have something that requires a clerk to override or approve the transaction like alcohol or spray paint.

You are going to get banged up on the OT with this take.

You can grab a free candy bar pretty easy if you want.

A man once had a dream. And that man is you

That’s a decent benefit.
In fact the only time I don’t use it is if I have something that would slow me down or I see a guy with a bunch of spray paint and booze in front of me

depends on the amount of items i have. if it's less than a dozen or so, i avoid having to deal with cashiers.

Not having to deal with the Mississippi Delta’s finest checkout personnel is discount enough in my town.

Why wouldn’t i? It means I don’t have to deal with the cashier

Depends on how many items I have. A handful or so, I'll use self checkout if there's a line in the regular lines. More than that, then I go the old fashioned route.

I always forget to scan something, by accident of course.

I'm happy to do it so I do not have to interact with anyone

I prefer self checkout to avoid awkward interactions. Local stores usually don’t have this issue, but checking out at Walmart or Target with a cashier can be a miserable affair

Why would I interact with the cashier/other people if I don’t have to?

Even in regular checkout you have to take the items out of the cart and put them on the conveyer belt. So the only difference is swiping the bar code.
