Think I'm finally about to make the jump to LASIK. I've been wearing glasses/contacts for 15 years or so and ready to be done with it.

Singer in Metairie is the guy I've heard most about. Anyone who's gone through him can vouch for his work? Reviews seem good and prices are affordable. Guess I'm just looking for a few opinions.

He did mine a few years ago in his BR office. He did a good job. I have no complaints. I'm glad I got it done.

Dr. Singer did my LASIK in 2009 with good results. My distance vision is still great.

I was 44 then and he told me that I would need readers a little sooner if I did the surgery. He was right, but I love having perfect distance vision.

Singer did mine about 9 years ago. Still have 20/20. Wasn't anywhere near that prior to surgery.

He did my best friends lasik and everything went great. I'm biased though because I live next door to one of his employees from his Metairie office so I have been to a couple family gatherings where he was there too.

Did mine in 2011, love it. It only took about 30-45 minutes with 20 of that sitting in the waiting room sucking on a valium.

Can't recommend Singer, I went to Afeman (who must be retired by now) - but DEFINITELY recommend Lasik.

Best money I've ever spent. It's quick, easy, and pretty painless. A little nerve racking at first - but totally worth it. and the money you'll save on contacts/supplies/glasses is bonus!

Hint: Never go with the $299/per eye ad from newspaper

I would be concerned about going with the cheapest option, when it comes to my eyes. I think the best is Dr. Owen J. Lacour.

Ive got impaired vision in one eye which is not correctable. I would never have surgery done on my "good" eye unless absolutely necessary. If they frick that up I'm screwed.

And if you do, don't have both done at the same visit.

I don't eat discount sushi either.

So I'm thinking of LASIK as well. My doctor said longer I wait the better simply because they are getting better at the practice and you only want to do it once. I'm mid 50's so getting close. I wear dailies which aren't too bad and I've worn cheaters forever. I'm like Fred Sanford with glasses.

Wouldn't be the $299 per eye. Going with the HD or whatever so it's $1099 per due to my bad astigmatism.

Think Ima call for the pre op exam and take the plunge. Thanks for the info all.

That's good that he faced them in the right direction
