You have your head in the sand about the side effects because it's helping you sleep.

I did in college. Doc gave me 7 pills and that fixed my sleep schedule. Ambein is not meant to be a permanent solution, use it long enough to fix your sleep schedule and get off.

Stupid? Bro, you have no idea what you're talking about and furthermore from your post you lack reading comprehension from what I said in my post so don't go there. I put qualifiers in my assertion about how it might affect the user and so just because something worked for you doesn't mean shite about how it affects others. If medicines didn't cause fricked up reactions in a segment of those who take it, there wouldn't be disclaimers on every drug ad on TV you hear for more than half the ad.

I can assure you the amount of users of ambien who have bad reactions is not insignificant.

Why? Because my experience with the issue and my opinion about it is different from yours? shite that's childish!

Take it every night. Sleep like a baby, no side effects, and no hangover if woken up early. It really just helps me get to sleep. I have heard horror stories about people hallucinating or sleep walking to do stupid stuff. Not me once and I’ve taken it 10 years.

I work shift going back and forth from days to nights to days. Couldn’t sleep the night after working nights. Ambien has worked wonders for me. It’s the only way I can sleep after working nights. I try not to take it more than a couple times a week though.

restless leg at night

Ropinirole HCL is prescribed for restless leg.

Just an FYI if Xanax ceases to work for you.

Yes. No questions asked. I tell them it really helps me get to sleep, which it does. I get 6 month prescription every time.

I have not.

But I know someone who did. She took her pill right before dinner and right at the end she firmly planted her face into the lasagna.

Apparently it worked for her.

I fight insomnia about three times a year and even ambien doesn’t work. Besides those instances I’m a great sleeper. But when I have those bouts it’s miserable. It’s almost like being on some type of cruel hallucinogen. Heat noises, see things out of the corner of my eyes, depth perception is off, and I’m a mess. And I’ve had the bouts go on for 5 days to a week at times. Wouldn’t wish it on anyone. It’s torture.

If melatonin, sleep hygiene, and OTC studf does not work see a doctor. But if I were you I would discuss other options. Ambien has some tough side effects. Triazolam has been amazing for me. Has cured my insomnia with almost no haze. Word of warning for lunesta... I used it once and it leaves such a bad taste in my mouth that it kept me up! Weight all the options.. hope you get the help you need

I take it for sleep right now. Takes about an hour to kick in but sets in FAST. Do not mix any other drugs with it unless prescribed. I mixed a narco with it about a month ago after not using them for 3 months; my girlfriend found me defending the house from demons at 3am. The demons were a broom, a fan, and a lamp. I also took our simplisafe codepad and set the alarm on every interior door in the house.

I have no recollection

Ambien would not be my first option if you haven’t tried other stuff but they tried 2-3 other meds after my surgery and it’s the only thing that worked.

ETA: if I take it after 9PM, I can bet that I’ll be groggy af for the first 2 hours after waking up, I’m talking complete zombie unless I drink a few cups of coffee.

I've taken ambien every other night for 7 years. It does just what it is supposed to do on those nights, never had a side effect. The alternating night thing is to avoid building tolerance. On the other nights I've used several different sleep aids, none come close to working as well as ambien.

If you take it as it's prescribed, there are almost zero side effects. The horror stories are almost invariably from people who took extra doses or took it with alcohol. 5-10 mg will NEVER have you wrecking your car in the middle of the night, and anyone who tells you that it does is a fricking liar.

Nah. I’ll concede that I didn’t wreck anything, but that’s probably because I was at my parents’ house for winter break and woke them up talking out of my head. Zero alcohol involved, minimal correct dose, and I went straight to bed afterwards like I was supposed to. Just instead of getting sleepy, I laid there feeling stoned and then started seeing weird shite around every light source ... which was apparently so amazing that I felt the need to tell everyone in the house about it. I’ve heard enough similar stories in the 20 years since then to conclude that my experience wasn’t really a huge aberration.

But everybody’s different, so I wouldn’t tell anybody else they couldn’t try it or that they shouldn't use it if it’s the best option for them. I just think it’s more appropriate as a last resort than a first line of defense since plenty of people will respond as well or better to OTC/older prescription sleep aids, and with fewer and less serious side effects.
