I want to say Bourdain did a Maine episode of No Reservations. Think it was Maine. Looked beautiful.

Son of a..... I'm now reminiscing about one of my favorite meals while there. Buy a bunch of clams and lobsters and eat your fill, a tail or two, perhaps the tamale, and all the claws you can get your paws on. Save the shells from both and make a stock. Add lots of cream, leftover lobster, clams, and red potatoes to the pot. Feast on bisque, good crunchy bread, and lots of Allagash beer.

Is this one of the states paying people to relocate there or is it Vermont or New Hampshire?

That’s Vermont. But there’s more to it than just moving there.

Vacationed in Maine five times. I’m weird because I’m not fond of their oversized crawfish, but still think it’s an awesome place. Small towns along the Midcoast like Camden and Boothbay Harbor are some of the most idyllic places in the country.

As others have mentioned, the Old Port area of Portland is really cool. I couldn’t get tired of being there.

Portland is a great city but it was in the 40s in June when I was there so I cant imagine what the winters are like. Couldn’t live there but great spot to vacation in the milder months.

Ex wife had to work in Portland for a while and I enjoyed being up there. There's plenty to do there and if you want the big city, Boston isn't too far away.

I would love to live there one day

Next year I plan to apply for a 6 month training course my company offers up there. I'm not even particularly interested in the training tbh, but getting to stay there 6 months on their dime is too good to pass up,

I'm a unicorn of a native southerner in that cold and snow has never bothered me. The heat and humidity of summer in the South kills me though.

Aren't you black too? If so that really is unique. Most black people that I know in the South dress like it's 14 degrees when it's 55.

I'm also native southerner that doesn't mind the cold. My wife hates it though.

I was there in November one time and the wind was blowing hard and it was in the low teens. It was ridiculously cold. But summertime is nice as frick.
