I’ve listened to 4 1/2 episodes in the last 24 hours. That John B. McLemore is one of the most interesting people to ever walk the earth. Fascinating.
Please, please, please—-NO SPOILERS

It's a great podcast. I've actually driven through that town and it's exactly like you'd expect. Not much there at all.

Would help to discuss this if anyone knew what the frick you were talking about

Uh plenty of people know this. It’s from serial, which a lot of people listened to.

I've listened to it. It fizzles out in the last 2 or 3 episodes, but it was a good listen. I agree, JBM is a strange, interesting dude.
I had to take something to KyKenKee Lumber company a few months ago for work. Weird folks that work there.
I will say, for Woodstock being such a small, hick town, there are some FINE women that live there.

He's not using an abbreviation... that's what it's called. S-Town wiki

The butler did it. Why would you start this thread on this forum and not expect spoilers?

Yup, prepare to be totally let down with the ending.

It's about to get real gay

That podcast blew my mind. Interesting would be an understatement.

It’s over a year and half old anyway.
It starts good but fizzles out once they run out of content and it doesn’t go like the podcaster thought it would go

I have a couple of questions about the podcast for those who have researched it or just know more about it.
Is it a true story?
Do you believe the dialogues that are included, supposedly taped, like the interviews with John and some of the other characters are real or are they re-created by actors? Some of the early ones seem overly dramatic and detailed. I just find it hard to believe that the small town people would be so open and dramatic with this stranger from NY.

I think John B was a brilliant guy who fricked with mercury so often that he started losing his mind. I think he also realized this and that's why he did what he did in the end. I'd take all of his theories with a grain of salt

I listened to it earlier in the year, lots of twists and turns toward the end. Really well done.

Started off strong then quickly went to sh!t. Such a misleading premise.
