LIVINGSTON PARISH - Parish officials in Livingston have put a curfew into place from dusk Friday until dawn on Saturday.

Only essential personnel and those traveling to and from work will be allowed on Livingston Parish roadways.

Prob so first responders aren't out all night getting people out of flood waters.

Assuming it's flooding there.

Most Livingston streets don't have lights. Not a good idea to be driving on dark roads during a flood.

Because of the weather and if they didn't set some type of curfew there would be people who will go out and about, which would likely result in people getting cars stuck in high water areas, etc, which means the parish would have to allocate resources to something that should have been avoided..

They don't want to pay overtime for emergency personnel to rescue the stranded idiots in lifted F250s who thought they could float their way home from their body shop gig.

Also...they are anticipating a lot more road closures and flooded streets and want everyone home before nightfall.

Hard to see washed out roads in rural areas at night.
