The parts that need an employee to help you only takes about 10 minutes, but I feel they did not think this promotion through.

Every time there’s some huge promotion that saves you money on something, and it draws a huge crowd, I ask myself this: if I were in the back of the line and someone came up and told me “for $X.XX (regular price of the item), you can go to the front of the line right now,” what would I do?

If I was in that line with my screaming two year old I’d be setting 50’s on fire to get to the front.

Per my wife, who saw it on the news, they just shut down the line at Lakewood. So anybody looking at getting one later is SOL

The news in Lafayette has a live feed, they're having to end the promotion due to crowd and safety concerns the lines are so long.

Wife (no pics) took kids today to Lakeside.

Store opening on website was 10 am. Got there 845 am. Line was to Dillards.

Store actually opened at 9 am.

Line "hardly moved" in 1 hr 45 min so at 1030 they bailed.

Supposedly store employees were handing out $15 off coupons to each kid in line so they can come back another day. Given the age of my kids and the cost of the bear (without accessories, which was not part of the deal) this is going to result in about the same cost being paid, within a few bucks.

Their social media seems to indicate that they were surprised by the turnout, and it seems like huge crowds all over.

Amazon has $50 BAB Gift Cards for 39.50 if you wanna make it an even better deal.

Its the age of the child buying the bear. I was gonna bring my daughter after work. Smartly I told her I had a surprise for her and not where we were going so now I can just change the surprise.

Daughter (no pics) babysits and took the kids there. She said it is chaos. Some people cut in line almost causing a melee and they were throwing F bombs around the kids. Good times!

Update. They told people they could be in line until 9 p.m. and are now handing out $15 gift certificates for people who don't want to wait.

Video of the line at Lakeside before the JPSO shut that shite down

If my wife went through all that to save a few bucks I would say she is mentally challenged based on that line.

are these bears super expensive or something?

I'm 34...would I be saving any money at that age?

surely people don't pay $50 for a goddamn teddy bear
