Is it a good pistol?

Had a Glock 17 Gen 4. Was a great pistol. Until I lost it in a tragic boating accident.

Friend of mine got the MOS version and loves it. I've been thinking of getting one myself as something a bit smaller but takes the same magazines as my Glock 17.

Outdoor board for honest assessments of firearms.

Yeah I was thinking of buying a couple of Glocks this weekend and having a boat flip accident next weekend.

Kimber guy. Glocks are reliable guns though...that is why they are a service weapon of choice.

My buddy owns one, not a fan, and 9mm ammo is impossible to find.

Glocks sink to the bottom of the lake just like any other firearm...

Yes. Great gun in a good size/capacity. Added Ameriglo night sights to it after I bought it, the stock sights suck. Very happy, now!
Have you been able to locate one that's in stock? G45s and especially G19s are very hard to come by right now.

I have one. Great weapon. Balances well in your hand, consistent trigger pull and won't fail on you unless you go out of your way to not take care of it.

I have one and love it but there are about 200 other pistols out there I would call a 'good pistol' as well. Put about 1000 rounds through mine with 0 issues, only reason that number is so low is because the price of 9mm has skyrocketed the past 6-7 months.
Go put a few different pistols in your hand and one will stick out, different brands too not just glock

Before the boating accident, I was a 1911 guy through and through. But, I picked up a G45 for a shooting course, as they advised shooting .45 all day is something I would come to regret. Although buying a Glock initially seemed like a mortal sin, and it took some soul searching to buy a Glock, I will admit I was wrong. I put about 500 rounds through it with out a hiccup before the accident. It was accurate enough for a factory set up; although, if you are used to 1911 triggers, you will not be a fan of the Glock trigger. The magazine and slide releases are a bit too flush for me, but that may be a personal thing. If I still had the pistol in my safe, I would have eventually replaced them, the trigger and barrel over time. But, I am irrationally obsessive about my guns.
So, I think you will have no regrets.
Just don't take your safe fishing...
