Saw a one eyed barber where I get my haircut one time.

No chance in hell he was cutting my hair, but some other people seemed to be ok with it.

Oh I definitely want to get another opinion before removing her eye. She is already kind of giving up. Been fighting this amoeba for 6 months. Lots of pain amd side effects from drugs.

What do you want to know? What happened?

Depth perception is gonna be largely gone. As is peripheral. Your good eye should try and compensate and become much stronger. Mine is 20/14 now.

You’ll miss being able to catch and swing and hit things like you once did.

You’ll have to develop other ways to judge distance accurately. It’s very much a relearning on how to do things.

Embrace piracy. Women love pirates.

My BIL lost an eye in a paintball accident several years ago. His main complaint for the first few years was the loss of depth perception. Messed with his driving...throwing and catching things became more difficult. He doesn't even mention those issues any more. I hope things work out, but if in the end she loses use of her eye, if her experience is like my BIL's, it will be a nuisance for a while, but she should be able to compensate in time. Prayers for you and your wife.

Phew. Okay, take a seat. Let me break this to you easy.

Your wife...your wife will never drive well.

I’m...i’m Sorry.

Oh it will take months to get where she is comfortable again behind the wheel. And it’s never gonna be like before. But she be able to be functional. Just gonna have to be EXTRA EXTRA careful and aware.

Invest in a backup camera and impact alarms.

Sweet cosplay options though

I know a guy that lost his eye in HS. He still drives.

He used to take his eye out as a party trick in college. Apparently the prosthetic was very expensive because they paint it to match your other eye.

Friends father has had one since he was a kid. Walking in on him snoring in his Laz Boy with one eye staring at you while the other was closed was a highlight of my childhood.

My dads best friend wore a patch his whole life and he looked great with it.

Coot I hope the wife can get this sorted out and save her eye. Sucks that she has to go through this. There's a dude right up the road from you that you can talk to, he lost an eye from a bungy cord.

If it came to me losing an eye or having it saved, I'd definitely be looking around at every doctor possible

I had both done, but with modern prosthetics you can't tell any difference. Hell I've passed two Louisiana driver's license renewals since then.
