I had it two years ago on my left temple and eye brow. It hurt so fricking bad I could feel it in my teeth. I’ll be 50 in a few years and I’m definitely getting the vaccine.

Got when I was in 1st grade, don't really remember much from it other than being very itchy and the bumps

I had them when I was 16 and honestly the rash was a little aggravating but I didn’t remember any serious neuralgias.

I've had it on the right side of my neck area and back. This was the worst pain I have ever been in and I've had kidney stones several times along with diverticulitis.

Shingles affects the CNS the same way a jellyfish sting does. Have someone urinate on the affected area and it will give you some relief. Large black women have higher levels of kn33-gapleze in their urine which is comparable to the active ingredient in lidocaine, so maybe you can run down to Burger King and catch one after they close.

THat is just do wrong and yet so funny.

Shingles is the herp......get the new vaccine if possible. If you think you may have shingles, taking valtrex or acyclovir during the prodromal phase will greatly reduce the severity of the outbreak. Don't be around infants, and pregnant women either.

Had it when I was 30. It was irritating, but on chest and back in a stripe around nipple height. The pain was manageable in that area.

Don't screw around on your face. I've heard pain is far worse, and you can legit lose eye function. If you're developing it, get to urgent care asap for treatment.

I had shingles several years ago, never had the rash,, just had intense pain wrapped around my ribcage. Felt exactly like broken ribs.

Miserable and painful for sure.

So you didn't have Chicken Pox as a kid? Regardless, you need the vaccination.

But I'll bet you did have Chicken Pox.

Back in the 80's stress in jobs in the oil industry caused a lot of my friends to come down with shingles. Most were diagnosed after a couple of miserable weeks.

Fast forward. Husband and I retired. His Mother, never a pleasant person, went on a screaming tare at him for several hours. One day later, his back started to itch. I recognized it, and we went to Ochsner two hours later. The doctor asked why we were there, I said Shingles, lower left shoulder blade caused by his Mother being a worse bitch than usual. Doctor said, causation sounds about right, looked at his back, said "Shingles" and gave us the Valtrex (which was really expensive, and we didn't have insurance.) Problem solved, at least the Shingles part.

MIL lasted another miserable decade, husband distanced himself.

A friend had shingles in his throat and esophagus. Could not eat. Fed himself through a tube in his stomach for over a year.

cut to last week, and 10 years later, it's still fricked up. Wife still has to tape his eye shut.

10 years of eye-taping and he can’t do it himself yet?
That’s ~4000 pieces of tape, any idea what brand they use?
