Had an aunt who got it, and she said it was f'in horrible.
Knew a guy who got bells palsy(doctor said from chicken pox as kid), and his right side of his face froze. His wife would tape his right eye shut, so he could sleep. His mouth drooped on the right side, it was fricked up.
cut to last week, and 10 years later, it's still fricked up. Wife still has to tape his eye shut.

I got shingles when I was 21 above my right eye kind of in the eye brow area and it looked like I had been sucker punched. It didnt hurt to bad but I know it will be a reoccurring thing for the rest of my life which will be a fun thing to look forward to. I told some broad I was talking to at a bar during New Years I got punched and she still went home with me that night.

You can't get shingles without first having chickenpox or the vaccine.

No, I don't have the shingles. Yes, I am over 50 and yes I've been through two rounds of vaccinations. I think I will be shingles free. And yes, I've heard other horror stories about the shingles. Thanks for bringing it up.

I had it.
But I had the vaccine first.
It only lasted a few days.
My house mate didn't have the shot and had the symptoms for well over a month.
I had shooting pains in nerves in legs. Spectacular.
So glad I had the mini version.

I had it subdermal and it caused me to also have Bells Palsy on the opposite side of my body.

Zostavax or Shingrex for vaccination? After taking Zostavax my doc said it was not effective. I then took Shingrex which is a vaccination and then a follow up about six weeks later. Big-assed needle given IM that hurt when I was injected.

Right. It has more to do with having had chicken pox.

The Shingrix supply is a debacle.
This is a very effective vaccine and the shortages have definitely increased public demand.

I had nerve shingles at 38.
Was at work first thing at 7am. Right after our morning huddle, my right foot began to ache. 30 minutes later, I’m in excruciating pain and pulling off my boot as I’m driving myself to the ER.
The Madigan Army Medical Center ER had no available parking in their lot close by, so I hobbled across the parking lot campus in tears and sobbing because the pain was so bad.
Doctors took a while to figure out what it was since I only had a small pimple on my second toe. Was laid up for two days and couldn’t walk at all. Was on crutches for a week.
Also had two subsequent flare-ups. Although, not as severe, I still had to use crutches. This was back in 2013 and fortunately I haven’t had any issues again.
TLDR; nerve shingles hurt like a bitch and easily the worst pain I’ve endured

I really don’t care that you have shingles

I highly doubt you would have the wherewithal nor the balls to say that to my face.

I got shingles on the right side of my scalp. Doctor explained to me that it only affects your left or right side and people rarely get an occurrence twice and almost never a third or more.
It was painful and caused some lymph nodes on the back of my neck around the ear lobe to swell up. I haven't had any issues since then. This was 2 years ago and lasted about 3 weeks

Public service announcement. If you’re over 50 get the Shingles vaccine. I have it over the right side of my face/scalp/eye. It’s extremely painful and kinda worried about regaining my vision. So get the vaccine people.
If you’re having visual loss I hope you’ve seen a doctor or are planning on seeing one ASAP.

I had it at 35. Take the vaccine. Very painful. But the meds knocked it out very quickly.
