Same here. Maytag Bravos series top loader. Load it evenly around the drum and you'll be good. Wash cycle is about 50+ minutes and it does a great job. My agitator functions way better in the kitchen.

Had a Maytag Bravos one for the last 7 years. Works great. You just have to make a hole in the middle of the clothes you load in so the sensor know how much water to add. As mentioned, place the clothes evenly around the sides of the drum.

In my house, the agitator actually loads the washer and occasionally she might fold the laundry after about 4-5 days.

I think we have the same model.

I've got a Maytag without. It cleans well. A little bit longer from what I recall. No issues. Bigger wash tub.

Parents have one and the big issue is the off-balance that can happen. If you buy one, make sure it warns you of that issue.

Theirs just shuts down and waits until someone reaches in and fixes it. Therefore it’s tough to set it and forget it. Washer needs babysitting and that’s annoying.

We have an LG top-loader with no agitator and I LOVE it.

No issues with clothes not getting clean... I think they get cleaner rubbing against each other instead of getting beat and stretched with an agitator. Since the switch, I’ve been able to put in delicate items that I would have previously chosen to hand wash.

My fave thing about it is the controls on the front. It doesn’t seem to be taking off as a trend when I see the new W/Ds, but I LOVE it.

ETA: Since most complaints seem to be about bulky loads, I can also say our doesn’t seem to have this issue (if the bulky cycle is selected)... it seems to be able to redistribute and balance the clothes on its own without adding 400 extra rinse/spin cycles.

I’ve had a Samsung for about 5 years with no issues. The quick wash setting only takes 38 minutes. The only time it ever gets off balance is when we wash something heavy like a bedspread, and even then it doesn’t happen every time.

I do. Out of balance rarely happens and when it does its usually a very thick or heavy blanket. I love mine been having it for over 5 years made by LG and not one problem.

I have one and I absolutely hate it. It can take hours to do a load of laundry because it keeps going uneven. I have to put my clothes in the washing machine with a plan, make sure to have it as even as possible. Can't do too many pajama pants in one load as they get really heavy when wet. I just hate it. I wouldn't be too upset if the thing died on me so I was forced to get a new one.

I’m curious if you have any issues. I’ve had appliance sales people tell me they don’t clean as well as the washers with agitators, but consumer reports says the opposite. Per CR, the biggest advantages to the agitator washers are the wash speed and cost. Biggest downside to the washers without is that it’s easy to have an load get off balance and the wash time.

We made teh switch with the new house 5 years ago. No complaints at all. Washes just fine. Our old one we had with an agitator would occasionally rip clothes. No problems with the new one.

Indeed. Has been the subject of many recalls but no permanent fixes have been found as of yet.

Drives me nuts. Makes me long for my 1990's Maytag.

We’ve heard they come off balance sometimes but ours never has.

Ours is a fricking nightmare with this depending on what the load is. Stuff like towels or sheets and you can pretty much set your watch to that thing wrapping them all into a fricking ball and then going ballistic when it tries to spin them.

I have a Maytag (this one: LINK ) and have had zero issues with it. It's literally never gone off balance, and I've become fairly lazy with clothes placement. It does take about 15m longer than my last machine, but that's the only downside. Washes well. I did notice early on that there would sometimes be a couple of soap residue spots, but I cleared that up simply by turning on the "extra rinse" setting.

Got a Maytag XL and it cleans very well. Gets everything out dirt, grease, grass stains, mud ect... Cleans better than the washer we had before that had an agitator.
