Don't want any surprises come tax time.

Fair enough. But I didn't think people liked letting the government hold their money.

It's not the end line for receiving the tax credit either

Per usual, so much fricking retard in this thread there's too much to start refuting.
Start refuting you douche
75k is like 60-65k after taxes
If you have to pay for private school for 2 kids you are looking at 20k
2 car notes maybe $1000 a month total
Mortgage $1000-1500
Utilities, internet etc maybe 300-400
Gas
God help you if your job doesnt include health insurance
Do the math. 75k salary cutting it close
Of course the cost of a lot of that would stop rising if the government stop subsidizing it and writing checks

Certainly not
But that limit covers most of the middle class
It's certainly ridiculous to suggest that it's only a handout for the dregs of society and benefits no middle class people

I’ve heard that point too.
I already cut a check every year, so I don’t want to have to pay all this “credit” back on top of what I’m use to paying.

Maybe don’t send your kids to a 10k/year private school lmao
Or tell your wife to get off her arse and work.

you think 75k and 150k joint is the end of the middle class in this country? maybe in 1960.
So actually, thats upper middle class, or maybe even the low side of upper class
This website has never had a clue what middle class actually is

I’ll never forget the plant baw that posted his tax returns showing a 300k/year houehold income and argued zealously that he was “working class”

It's an objective metric measured by either a percentage or fraction. They have no chance

Gotcha. That's reasonable.

It's an advanced tax credit, your total liability is the same no matter when you recieve the credit.

If the glove don't fit you must acquit
Posted on 7/13/21 at 5:18 pm to Cosmo
Don't forget these limits are on AGI. A couple with an AGI of 150k could gross as much as 200k before top line deductions like retirement account contributions, HSA contributions, and other expenses.

Dump 19.5K into 401K and another 6K into a roth IRA to get the AGI down.

I understand. He likes to leave it at the end to offset what he has to pay every year.

Isn't that going to be a draw against their CTC on their 2021 income taxes? I see a lot of upset folks when they don't get their $2K credit next year.
