Not anymore you can’t. Deadline to unenroll was the 28th.

For the first payment.

I looked today, you can still opt out of future payments.

150,000 household income puts you in the 87th percentile for Louisiana

So, considering only the richest 13% will be phased out, I would say this clearly includes the middle class

And it's $112,500 for Single Daddies like me! Gimme dem coins, Muthafrickas!!!

I thought single parent was 75k for the full amount? After that you'll have a reduced amount.

Single <> Head of Household. If you have kids and share 50/50 custody(claim them on taxes), your threshold is 112,500 before it phases out. It's the same as the stimmy thresholds. I have 2 kids each with my exes so I always have two chirrens on my taxes. We rotate them.

You must be confusing the middle class with the OT middle class.

The top 5% of households, three quarters of whom had two income earners, had incomes of $166,200 (about 10 times the 2009 US minimum wage, for one income earner, and about 5 times the 2009 US minimum wage for two income earners) or higher, with the top 10% having incomes well in excess of $100,000.

We unenrolled from it. What a mess to go thru the process though. Many are going to be surprised next April when they don't get back what they're used to.
The total tax credit was raised so depending on the age of your child the difference will be $200 or $500. Not much of a surprise unless that's a lot of money to you.

75k would be a struggle with kids unless you have good public schools

Gonna have to have a 10 year note for the f150 and wifey Tahoe

you think 75k and 150k joint is the end of the middle class in this country? maybe in 1960.

Not me. My boys are 27 and 31 years old.

Don't need their welfare.

It's not the end line for receiving the tax credit either

The point is those amounts are certainly within the middle class

So it's not for the middle class.

Are you saying a married couple making a combined income of $149,999 a year is below middle class? Or are you just trying to spew talking points that you haven't thought about before saying?

The left spews talking points that don't make sense. Be better than that.

I declined as well, but I would like some explanation as to what is best. I’ve heard different things.

You get what you qualify for either way, all you are doing is truing up your allowed credit amount during tax time. It will certainly affect your refund amount in April as you are taking half of your credit before.

This is a solid, stealthy bank account flex right here.

Kudos to you
