Anyone here frequently camps in the woods alone, if so, are you a psychopath?

I mean I would but I'm getting too old to do it for no reason.

Some of us were born in the country were not pussies and scared of the woods

Not frequently lately but if added all together I’ve spent probably 3-4 months of my life alone in the woods on various backpacking ventures and hunting.

And yes, I’m a psychopath.

Why would you think someone camping alone is a psycho? Many ppl camp alone when they go hunting or hiking in the mountains.

I grew up in the swamp and not scared of the woods but might be too pussy to camp alone.

If you see me and my friends in the woods, it's best to turn around and look the other way...

A buddy and I were tent-camping along The Wild Azalea Trail and in the middle of the night what I assume was a wild horse galloped right by our tent. The ground was shaking, startled the hell out of us.

I grew up hunting and have camped often enough in my life, and while I really like the idea, to be honest I watched too many horror movies as a kid and I'd probably drive myself crazy if I was solo.

Parents used to encourage us to go camping and didn’t mind if we were gone for more than one night. When I became a parent, I understood why.

You are far safer camping alone in the woods than simply existing in any city in Louisiana

Been homeless before. Slept on the ground in the forest. Then in a tent. Sometimes heard some things in the dark. Loneliness is far worse than the weather or the animals. I loved hearing trains, coyotes, things like that.

Only thing scary was some drunk guys came and were making a fire and pouring gas on it, about set the forest on fire, and were screaming, telling anyone in earshot to wake up. I really thought there was going to be violence then all of a sudden they left.

I was on a camping kick a few years back. Mainly to escape the then wife. I would go to the national forest in mississipi and hike a few miles then set up a tent and camp.
I would get woken up by hogs and turkeys. Never ran into another person near my campsites. Only when I kayak camped.
.

When I kayak camped in the middle of the night a dog started crying at my tent. I let him stay then Sadly left him to find his owner. He had a radio collar and I had called the owner and told him where he was.
