Would like some feedback. They seem to have a great selection of used vehicles at very reasonable prices.

Nope. It's surprising that they are still operating.

My brother has bought 2 from there and the lead mechanic is a personal friend (The one off 59, not the other one)

Plus, they know their prices are the lowest so they WGAF if you "walk out"

Yes. They went over my trade-in while I test drove the new truck. I sent them pics before going there, we agreed on blue book price, and they stuck to it. For sales tactics, they just walked around the truck and told me to look over everything. After that, they gave me the keys and went inside. The process for buying the new truck took about 45 minutes, and I was on my way back home. It was the cheapest one of its kind in the entire southeast.

I don't think I'll ever buy another truck in Louisiana

Dont expect them to negotiate much. Dont expect a donut or coffee while to you wait for paperwork either. Dont expect a friendly smile or a good presentation of the car. They are in the volume business, that is why their prices are very reasonable. I bought a FX4 F150 there years ago, and everybody there was a douche. But the vehicle was nice, i got a really good price on it, and never had a problem from the truck.

Noted that there were a lot of folks there with luggage, as if an airport shuttle service had brought them to the dealership.

Yes. I bought my 4 runner there 6 years ago.

Make sure you know for sure you want to buy a car....do all your research first. Keep your eye on their website ever day as they turn over cars quickly. If there us one you want call in and put down 5hundred dollar deposit to hold it for you. This is important because they sell cars fast on the Internet and I was test driving a car from them....got back to their office and they told me sorry the car was just bought online by someone in alaska.

If you don't end up buying the car you can use that 5 hundred on a different one.

I have, back in 2010. not much wiggle room on price, but they'll work with you some.

had no complaints about the buying experience.

In that kind of business, a lot of it comes from out of town (especially in the internet age) so you often have people flying in to pick up the car.

Yes. Several years ago.

My experience: No haggling. They'll drop the price a bit to close the deal but don't expect this long drawn out charade you'll get at a traditional dealership.

Contact a salesperson and let them know the car(s) you're interested in and when you'll be coming in. Have them already pulled for you. If you don't do this it may take them hours before you've looked at them all.

Overall a positive experience. It's hard to beat their prices.

Don't expect them to kiss your arse. They are very much a volume dealer, know they have the best price, and know the next guy will buy the car you're looking at.

I think of Texas Direct primarily as a great place you should go to SELL your car. We had a 4 year old Lexus RX and the dealership told us straight up that they couldn't beat Texas Direct on the trade-in and that we'd be better selling to them. We eventually got a dealer in Dallas to match Texas Direct's quote on trade, which is a better deal due to taxes. Texas Direct called us two weeks later wanting to know why we didn't sell to them and asking if they could offer us more. They gave us an offer that was MASSIVELY better than what Carmax was willing to pay. Carmax is a bunch of ripoff artists, by the way, on both ends. They offer people nothing when they want to sell them a car and charge new car prices for used vehicles on the other side. I have no idea how Carmax is in business, other than people are idiots.

i agree with this. I would not e surprised if a lot of their inventory comes form flooded out cars in different parts of the country. also I bet there are a lot of repossessions.

years ago, I had a 2005 VW tourag that had legit engine trouble. I took care of it but I read somewhere that the V* was too big and can misfire. something like that...

anyways VW on 59 told me it was going to break down any minute. they said they would give me $3000 for parts on a trade in. $6000 to fix.

I immediately drove it down to Texas Direct Auto and they gave me $8000 on trade in.

I can imagine that when they find a car with no title issues or obvious car trouble they give a good trade in value.

I have bought two vehicles from them. On one the transmission started making a grinding noise like 3 days later. I got it checked out and it needed some sort of gear box replaced. They cut me a check for the repair that day.

I have bought one, and my dad bought one. Really easy process of actually buying the car.

Watch out for sneaky tactics though, they will try to only give you one key, even if they have both (happened to me, but they "found" the other while we were doing paper work. they will try to sell it without floor mats.

My dad bought an avalanche and the back wall separating the truck bed from the cab was missing. not something he noticed when he bought it, turned out to be like a $1000 part. I assume they try to hold on to things like that and sell them on ebay or something.

Used their price to negotiate a trade-in value, but did not buy from them.

On a side note, if you're in Houston, John clay Wolfe runs a radio show on 97.5fm on Saturday mornings where he buys cars over-the-air for TDA. Most entertaining thing on Houston radio.
