Did it in Breckinridge. It’s a blast. The first time I went down though my butt was puckering and I stayed on the brakes it’s a blast though. Took turns with my boys going down. Was a two seater

Did the one in Jackson Hole at the local mountain. Most fun I’ve had in a long time.....laughed the whole way down. Would do again in a second...

You dont need to brake on them unless some slow puss is in front of you.

Rode one in Brazil. At first, I was hitting the brakes too much but started letting it fly about halfway through. The one I was on had turns on the edge of steep hills so it was a little nerve-wracking even though they had nets.

The one in Breckinridge is a blast. 3 different slides. My gf ( no pic) crashed at the very end. Still not sure how she crashed on a straight run. If you want to go really fast you need to wait as long as possible at the top. So when the dude says go you just look around like you’re adjusting your body or ask him a question about the brakes. In other words stall as long as possible or else you’ll run into a slowpoke during your ride.

I’ve never been on a coaster, but have done the alpine slide a handful of times.

I have family in Steamboat, and we went on the slide years ago while visiting. My two cousins took the staff sleds (supposedly faster) to race. I went after and about halfway down, I saw one of them standing off to the side waving us past. His brother had flown off the side around a turn.

He was pretty seriously injured, bad abrasions, some broken bones, and the skin on one of his heels was basically gone. It was a pretty nasty wipeout.

They are a ton of fun, but there can be serious accidents.

Did I just watch someone break a girl’s back? She went limp after that impact.

I think there’s a big difference between these coasters and an alpine slide.
I did one in the Smokies when I was in middle/high school. Didn’t use break much... worst rub burn I ever got, but man was it fun.

I’ve done most of the ones around pigeon forge and Gatlinburg. They meter the entry pretty well. Could one person go full brake and the person go full speed behind them without hitting

Anyone with a lick of sense can avoid hitting someone on one though.

She was leaning to the side to make that turn.

The only thing that makes those towns bearable anymore. Especially with kids

I rode one at Raccoon Mountain near Chattanooga back in the early 90's. It was fun, but I didn't see any raccoons.

I've ridden quite a few in Germany and Austria. There is one less than an hour away with a nice beirgarten we've been to several times. Always try to avoid riding behind mothers riding with kids they always go much too slowly. Also, brake as much as reasonable near top before gaining momentum so you can go full out without getting stuck behind a slow mover below.
