Anyone here drive a 4Runner?

My truck is getting a little long in the tooth, and it soon may be time for a change. I'll probably wait until car prices (hopefully) stop being so insane.
The 4Runner - specifically the TRD Pro - interests me.
Those of you who have one, how to you like it? Drives well? Any issues I should be aware of?

Last forever. Look good.
Shitty mileage and drives like a box on wheels.
Interior looks dated

You think they are going to go down?

The benefit of driving a 4Runner is the ability to call your wife's boyfriend to haul lumber.

The OT is generally well-inclined towards the 4Runner.
It's the last* medium-sized SUV still built on a truck frame.
*along with it's Lexus compadre

My wife drives one. Solid and well built, but I would not get one for myself. It has no soul.

Wife drives one. Rides like a billy goat and has the features of 1990's work truck. But hey, it's reliable and I can't wait 20 years from now to see the resale value.

I have an F450 flatbed at work. Is that why your wife has been blowing up my phone?

We currently have a
2001 with 250,000 miles. This is our airport car.
2007 with 180,000. This was my wifes daily driver until she got a different SUV. It gets used in bad weather.
2016 with 75,000 miles. This is my daily driver.
If the 2016 had the option of the V8 like the 2007 it would probably be the perfect mid sized SUV.

What’s your budget and needs? Because there’s also the Lexus gx out there in the same ballpark. Maybe a few years old but give me that over the 4Runner any day.

Hope you like your truck then.
4Runners new and used commanded premiums even before the chip shortage, now it’s even worse. I’ve seen low trim 4wd 4Runners with 30,000+ miles listed around $40-$45k. Another $4k gets you a brand new one.

Yes, but it's a 2005 so not what you're looking for. I like it, but it's not a super comfortable car for driving. It's also a V8 so gets really bad gas mileage, but it's a beast and will run forever so I don't care. My 14 year old daughter is already dropping hints at wanting it when she turns 16.

I suspect the used car market will calm down once companies start delivering new models again.

Some guy pulled up in my driveway a couple of months ago offering me $8500 for my 2005 one, and it's not even a 4WD model.

Its got dings, hail damage, scratches. So anytime we have to go to the airport to park, this is the car we take so that we don't worry if it gets hailed on, bumped into, etc. in the airport parking lots.
