Are they notoriously flaky and late for scheduled calls?

Don't worry. Be happy. Every little thing is going to be alright.

Is it? Sounds like the OP is stuck in an office, probably somewhere cold.

Yeah, but I put as much effort into it as they do.

You should call them "blood clots" next time you see them. I heard they love that.

All the time. Yes they are living on island time. Very laid back. They don’t have the same work ethic as we do.

They are also very poor. They pay enormous amount of taxes on anything they buy. Champagne taste on a beer budget

In my experience, yes. They're on "island time".

Depends a lot on their background. My old company had an office in Trinidad. The ethnic makeup of Trinidad is interesting. There are a lot of people of Indian (Asian Indian) decent in technical fields. They tended to be a little more punctual but there is still a slowdown in life. Honestly, I have no issues with that as a day to day approach so long as a person can distinguish critical situations that require punctuality. I really enjoyed working with most of those guys.
