Have had a suunto for a long time, but I hear alot about the Garmin Fenix. I am just curious if anyone has had experience on it. Is it worth the high price tag.

I have the fenix 5. I think it’s nice and was a good compromise for me. I don’t use all the features but use the app often for heart rate and amount of steps I take.
I got the sapphire glass. I would highly recommend it.

I had the Garmin 235. I now have the Fenix 6 and quite pleased.

Thinking of getting the vivoactive myself. Got tired of the apple watch and never really liked the shape of it/battery life

Been wanting to switch from my Apple watch to the fenix. Anyone made that move and are now happier with it?

Fenix 5x plus going on 2.5 years. Wear it every single day. Love it. Would buy 100 times

I have the Garmin Instinct Solar. Have now for about 2 years. battery lasts about a week if you're active with it, couple days longer if you aren't.
I've got no complaints. You can't text on it, but you still get the vibration alert when you get a call or text.
I do like the app that you use for it.

I had Fenix 5 and it was the worst watch I’ve ever owned. It would randomly shut off without warning while having plenty of battery life. The warranty was useless, so i trashed it. I’ve completely sworn off smart watches from now on.

I have a 6S Pro for a little over a year now. I would say the greatest benefit for me is the battery life over an apple watch. I can leave this thing on all week, and then charge it for an hour and it's fully ready to go.
The stats on the workouts and daily health is pretty fantastic as well.

have a fenix 6 sapphire. no complains for how i use it (run, hike, bike and swim) except one major one - the optical heart rate monitor sucks absolute balls. during some activities it takes a while to get an accurate reading. and on other activities, unless the watch is secured painfully tight around my wrist it will provide a heart rate that is about 20bpm low. i've worn a chest strap to compare, and the chest strap is much more accurate. if you're not doing heart-rate based training, this probably isn't an issue. but it drives me crazy.

The HR monitor is buggy across all Garmin watches from what I’ve read. The GPS accuracy can also be a little off, particularly in the cheaper models. I don’t think it’s a big issue in the Fenix line though.

I have the Fenix x series. I love it. But, I have used an Apple Watch on occasion to try and it does certain sports better than the fenix series. It’s probably a preference. I didn’t want to have another Apple gadget. The fenix appears more durable. It is compatible with many blue tooth items. It doesnt do weights or weight training very well, though. Check our DC rainmaker for a more comprehensive analysis.

Fenix 6 is on sale for $300 since new version is supposed to be out soon. I just made the jump from apple watch cause i think apple perioherals/wearables are shite. Im enjoying the extended battery life and sleep monitor feature. I haven’t used it for any exercise activities yet.

This is a patently false statement across the board. I don’t know that any other company in the market does GPS better.

I’m just relaying what I read from dcrainmaker, who is one of the most respected reviewers of these things. I was kind of surprised by it as well given Garmin’s reputation.

I have the garmin instinct and like it. It looks the most like a regular watch.

Where? I see $550 on Garmin’s website

I think you’re really speaking to the reliability of all wrist-based HRMs. It really isn’t the ideal location.
(Love my Forerunner 935 but replaced it with a Whoop because I wanted something low profile.)

Been using the Fenix 3 HR here for about 4 years, great for biking, kayaking, running, etc... Battery life varies depending on what you are doing, GPS tends to reduce it significantly. No issues so far.

Have the Vivoactice and does fine for gym and running.
Can play lists from Amazon and Spotify without phone which is nice.
