My style is remarkable. Misunderstood, but remarkable.

Who else is going to have a crazy looking ripstop wallet from San Francisco?

No. As I mentioned, read better. There was more than one post.

But you seem to suggest that watching sports is related to being clueless. Not sure I gather the connection. If you like sports, watch them. If you like reality shows, watch those.

If you want to buy 100 dollar t shirts, or buy 100 dollar wallets....good for you. Gaston posted a thread on wallets, I suggested getting something he likes that's functional and inexpensive... Not sure how that makes me clueless. I kind of regard being more modest as being clued in, but live your life and spend your money as you choose on what matters to you...to each their own.

Don’t let the Down voters bother you. Small business made by a former firefighter that’s actually a pretty cool story. And the wallet has held up ridiculously well. It’ll be four years old in December and it’s the wallet that’s listed me the longest in my lifetime.

I wasn't dissing on your selection, as I don't even know the cost. I simply intended to suggest just getting something that looks good to you that is functional and relatively inexpensive. Anything less you spend on your wallet can go towards your kids, doing something with your wife, or towards an investment.

Just let it go. It is his schtick on here. He posts questions about random obscure things hoping people will make fun of him and then he can tell them how much cooler he is than them. Rinse and repeat. Don't fall for it next time.

Remarkable is a good word without being offensive. Out of the ordinary could be misconstrued.

I specifically went away from the Shinola $200 leather wallet, I don't want to pull that out of my pocket. My current wallet is way damn far from pretentious, and I don't see the Pioneer nylon one that way either.

That's why I bought a new wallet.

Not saying you have to get a 15 dollar wallet, but if you looked at some 15 dollar wallets, even you would probably find one you would carry around without feeling like you look like a poor.

Mine is a paper clip. If I have a lot of bills, I'll use a thin rubber band.

No, I suggested that guys like the one to whom I responded [i.e., you] tend to be those who are obsessed with sports. I think an obsession with them is a marker for a certain type.

Meh. More moral preening. Good for you. Of course, you know that I made no comment in respect of things that are "modest" or "functional and inexpensive", but you feel the need to preen anyway. That's fine. I'm sure we're all very impressed.

This is fine. Again, I'm not suggesting that you have to spend $100 or $200 on a wallet.

It was a suggestion, not preening. One could equally argue that you're preening with this idea that you have nice/expensive things and are some refined, sophisticated dude because of it. No one here falls for that or cares. Just as no one cares if I'm a cheap arse on some things. He asked for suggestions, and people suggested things that they have done, myself included. Then you come in here and make baseless, might I add...inaccurate, judgements about myself and others from your high horse...all on an internet message board. There's a handful on here that try to keep some schtick going for them, but there are few who actually do it well. The rest of us just don't care.

Obviously not cool enough for Gaston, you're talking to the weirdest hipster you've ever met.

No, I just don't carry/wear things until they are literally falling apart.

Mostly guitar straps but cool wallets.

They are a bit pricey and do have some hipster nonsense, but they also have some cool wallets. I like one made from old GMC bench seat material. Or GTO trunk liner material.

I'm not a hipster. I'm a mid-forties dork engineer...I just got my style from black socks and shorts wearing physicists at CAMD. I worked there 5 years during college and there were many European researchers who also were a bit 'off' in their style. IDK, absolutely nothing I have or carry is weird. It may be hard to find or unique in some strange way, but it's so plain that no one would ever notice why it's unique.

If I explained why I have the things I do and what makes them unique it would be nauseating to people...but that's why I torture y'all with this crap. I'm mostly a barfly...and none of my friends want or care to know what makes my completely normal looking shite unique.
