I have all the insanity, p90x, t25, and tap out videos (probably 40 or more different videos and you can probably get the video files from someone for free like i did) and here is how i incorperate them into my week:
Day 1: do a video for my lunch break (usually a t25 bc the are quick and you build up a good sweat). Then run a mile on the treadmill and lift weights after work.
Day 2: jog 2.5 miles on treadmill, then lift weights.
Day 3: do different video for lunch break. Run a mile on treadmill then lift weights after work.
Day 4: jog 2.5 miles on treadmill then lift weights.
Day 5: do a video at any point in the day. No lifting.
Throw in two rest days in there where ever you want in that rotation, and you have a pretty balanced week of cardio/lifting.

Push ups: As many as you can for 1 minute
Squats: As many as you can for 1 minute
Sit ups: As many as you can for 1 minute
Burpees: As many as you can for 1 minute
Jumping Jacks: As many as you can for 1 minute
Rest: 2 minutes
Repeat set
Do 4 sets. Increase time by 15 seconds as you progress.
It works best when done to horrible 90's dance music.

Try tabatas. 20 seconds of all out intensity followed by 10 seconds rest. Repeat for 8 rounds.
This. Why complicate it? Except I do longer rest periods.

Swimming intervals is tough. I'm trying to lower my 200 scy times right now. Try to start each new interval within 2:15. So if I make it back in 2:00 (easy pace), I get 15 seconds rest. Make it back faster, more rest. Trying to get my intervals down to leaving within 2:00, but I stuck at swimming and a ~1:45 pace kicks my arse after about 2 of intervals.

Eventually I want to buy a road bike and start doing some distance rides
Do it. Just be smart about where you ride. I can ride my road bike or tri bike for 2-2:30 hours easily before I feel as worn out and/or bored as I do on a trainer after 45 minutes.

What a previous post said, fitness blender.com. put
in what you want to do, time, calories to burn, etc. and it gives you many different workouts to choose from. And it is free. No music so you may play your own. Exercises are pretty simple. Good luck.

Cardio is for losers. Real men just lift stuff.

I had laid off cardio for about 9 months and spent most of my time lifting. I thought because I broke a sweat that I was getting a decent enough workout to keep me "in shape". Then I started riding my bike again and training for a triathlon and realized that I had about as much cardio endurance as a couch potato. I may eventually start working out again, but I'm never going to neglect cardio like that again.

I did a 3 month cycle and and the first two months I didn't do cardio. I did cardio in the 3rd month. I was gassed in the first 10 minutes. My quads were on fire.
