I might buy a Taco as my next vehicle but hopefully that's 5+ years away. I've always shied away from them due to rear seat room and kids, but our youngest is 17 now.

fuel mileage regulations demand it
its not like they did it because they want to
if they dont meet the new mpg regulations, they wont be allowed to sell them.

2024 F150 XL has a naturally aspirated 3.3 V6 as the standard engine option. It will cost you extra to upgrade.

I don't drive them. I've just seen multiple Tacoma's flipped over...enough that there's clearly an issue with them rolling. Don't know if it's because they're so light, but sit so high or what. But I've seen more than enough for there to be a trend.

Just curious where you're getting this assessment. Have driven Tacomas since 2002, totaled 2 (rear- ended into convenience store stanchion, slid on ice and hit someone) and have been on many, many high-clearance back country mountain roads in 4L in CO and UT, never sniffed a flip. Doesn't mean I couldn't have flipped if I'd tried, but your assertion doesn't mirror my experience. Incidentally, no air- bag deployment in either wreck.

Nissan Hardbody is coming back next year. Pretty close to the original but bigger. I’m going to look into the 4wd.

I have to assume any flip issues are with baws who lift them and don’t know what the hell they are doing

Huge mistake from Toyota. All a result from govt regulation.

Its not a new model. the hardbody will just be just a trim package for the current frontier.

If it's a government regulation then why is Toyota at fault for simply adhering to the standards?

That’s funny….GM & Ford have gone with turbocharged 4’s as well. I’d prefer a naturally-aspirated but (after teeth issues) I trust Toyotas turbos more so than Ford or GM
New Tacoma is a fantastic looking ride & has numerous options for every price point. I love the old Tacoma & this is a huge step forward.

It's all manufacturers at this point. Honda puts a little 1.5L turbo in its cars and small SUVs now.

In fairness, they still have a naturally aspirated V6 in the Ridgeline. Guess theyre the real truck now.

The Ridgeline exceeds what 90% of truck-owners require, except compensating for some people’s short-comings…

There sure are a lot of snowflakes in here scared of turbochargers.
ETA. The same type of people were bitching when carburetors were being replaced with fuel injection.
