Off from 12/20 - 1/6

Waiting on stuff from a client that probably isn't coming through.

Anyone else in limbo?

I never take these type weeks off. The office is always fairly empty anyways so days are short regardless.

I'm trying to be better for 2025. Old Commandeaux would have said "Your Mom".

Unfortunately

I am not looking forward to January. 12/28 filing date so we will be going 60-65 hour weeks for a month. Then a March filing date after that, so another 6 weeks of 50s.

I feel justified coasting this week.

This week will be really busy but last week was as well.

Seeing and hearing of more and more people being let go before the holidays so not complaining (too much). Sadly everyone seems to think and the economists seem to know there is more pain on the way. It's not just Logistics and Supply Chain people here in my area. People from all over the place and across all types of job sectors.

I have a newish boss that manages up and lives his life to impress his boss

He gave everyone a project to present a PowerPoint Thursday afternoon for 15 minutes to the rest of the team on Key lessons we've learned this year and each lesson has to have 3 sub bullets

It’s 100% just to give us busy work so we don’t slack off this week

What a dick move

That's how you make quality happen, what a genius.

I've been waiting on the Swedes to progress something for over two weeks. I know nothing is going to happen until January.

The little work I was going to get done was shot to shite on Friday, when I got told to include 4x as many people as planned in data discovery meetings. Yeah, good luck with me finding availability now.

Or I could just point out that the meetings were only necessary because IT didn't document FA when they were setting up the applications, or doing any maintenance on them. But that wouldn't be productive.

Good Luck.

It'll be a boring next few days, but I can't say I envy you.

Off 12/21 thru 1/2, so only 5 working days left this year. If last Friday and Saturday are any indication, it’ll be a busy week—worked 24 hours on just those two days (11+13). Technically it’s supposed to be slow right now, but we’ve been getting plenty of OT.
