You really have two Buckheads: The "old money" neighborhoods west of Peachtree and Roswell Roads (i.e. Tuxedo Park, Peachtree Battle, Paces, Mt. Paran-Northside), and the Buckhead Village area/eastern Buckhead which has the bars and is less affluent. 95% of the issues occur in the latter area.

I went to the Pink Pony once. I ended up very intoxicated and boom ... the next morning I had a lot less money. Maybe I'm a victim too.

I know 2 people that woke up in a New Orleans hospital on 2 separate nights after having a drink or 2 on Bourbon St. That was 20 years ago. This is nothing new

Used to go to Buckhead for work all the time. Hung out at the Twin Peaks.

quote:Ive heard a NOLA version of this same incident too. A dude enticed by a woman, drugged, and then some other dudes abduct him and drain his accounts, etc.
A friend of mine was telling me that his co-worker had that happen in New Orleans a few weeks ago. He was down there for his sister's wedding, they went to dinner, and the next thing he remembers is waking up in the street wandering aimlessly. No wallet, phone, etc.

Correct. The influx of apartments has really impacted the area.

Damn that is scary shite. I guess if going drinking don't take your phone and only take a card that has a small limit.

I would love to know the mechanics of this scam if the staff is in on it. How do they pick their mark? Just fancy watches? Are they being obnoxious and only hitting on the young and out of league ladies?
I used to travel a lot for work and an old salty guy once told me never to wear fancy watches or carry a lot of money after hours. Only people that notice a rolex are other dudes, thieves, and hookers and if you are out after hours you dont really want any of their attention.
also told me to basically lie my arse off if anyone, especially a "hot" woman, started chatting me up randomly. Dude was a fricking savant.

I bet a woman is involved. They are out of it, a girl comes talk to them.. No one will question a dude leaving with a girl.

In Miami they busted a Russian mafia ring that was charging 10's of thousands on guys cards for drinks at the bars etc. There was a well organized network of hot chicks flirting with dudes, drugging them and then the guys would scam them hard.
