FWIW, Denver and the surrounding areas are being overrun with refugees of CA who are quickly changing the political landscape to look like CA. Which is weird since they left. If you are the type of person who gets wound up by crazy liberals running things then be forewarned.

University of Northern Colorado is there.
If you are into beer, WeldWerks Brewery there is fantastic, but that's not particularly unusual for that part of the world.
I was there 3 days for work, the prior comparison of Brusly to Baton Rouge isn't far off.

It smells bad because of all the cows
Farms with cows usually don't smell awful. Sometimes when I'm back home in Green Bay there will be a wind that allows us to smell the farms on the edge of town and it actually smells good.

Nah boss. I am in full control of my emotions.
The libs are not ready for me. I’m coming in hot. Scorched earth.

I almost went there. I balked due to the possibility of a drilling ban.

It's an agriculture and oil and gas hub of Colorado. Greeley and Weld County are very red on the political map.
I live in Denver and commute here for work every day, it's not that bad. I leave at 5:30 am and am at the office in 45 mins. A little slower getting home of course since there's a lot more traffic than at 5:30 am.
It smells some days (depends on wind direction) because there's a ton of large feed lots and dairies up here in Weld County.
It's also blowing up. One of the fastest growing towns and counties in the country actually. There's neighborhood developments being built everywhere on the outskirts of town.
I obviously drive I-25 twice a day and I see as many trucks driving up building materials as I see trucks driving up well casing.
Small town feel full of salt of the Earth hard working people. I live in Denver because it's more my lifestyle, but there's tons of places in between. Erie, Mead, Berthoud, Longmont, Firestone, Johnstown, Milliken, etc that are all experiencing growth as well. Denver suburbs are growing north for a reason.
Loveland and Fort Collins are just down the road as well.

It does smell sometimes.
It's over an hour away from Denver.
It's kind of a redneck/cow-town.
You can see the mountains from there, but it's more like Kansas than what you would think of when you think Colorado.
Eta: I worked in Greeley for a few years. I lived in Loveland while I worked in Greeley because frick living in Greeley.
