Greeley is flat, typical high plains flat with a few scrawny shrubs that the local call trees in the arroyos. It's dry. The cities there depend on snow melt for their domestic water use. Some years all the lawns die for the six months that they would be green (part of ).
A friend out there and I were talking gardening this weekend. Their fall was brief and most people missed the mountain aspen change to yellow. She worked on her yard one afternoon (70s temperatures) and that night it dropped to 15 (15 Fahrenheit.)
