What's it like??
I imagine watching The Masters after playing the course is cool. Would love to someday.

Do some research on how hard it is to get on the course.
Of course we will have a bunch on here claiming they have done it.

Played it in 2011. It was surreal. Never thought I'd ever get the chance, but EA Sports did us a solid and delivered the goods in Tiger Woods PGA Tour '12.

I just called and got a tee time for Sunday. Want to join?

I’ve got a couple buddies that have played it.
They’re friends and business associates with a member.

The only way to play it (other than being super rich) is to caddie there for the members during the Masters’ offseason,
The day after the Masters, those who caddied there during the year, get to play it. Kegs on every hole. It’s like a fraternity party out there.

Tbh it was a little disappointing.
Beer carts only had Labalt Blue and Bud michelada.
To make matters worse, I shot a 73.

I played it the year after I watched Billy Cannon's Halloween night touchdown return. Thanks for reminding me. I should play it again soon. Anyone want to play this weekend?

Similar experience for me. Cart girls were out of Jager the day I played.

No but I walked the course yesterday before watching Nicklaus, Watson and Player on the Par 3 course. That was cool.

Start volunteering for the tournament. When I went to watch one year I asked one of the members how do people get on the course. He said that tourney volunteers are allowed to play 1 round of golf there every year, after they have worked for the tourney for 10 years in a row. The day you get to play is randomly chosen and cannot be changed. The volunteer will be called with enough time to make arrangements to get to town, but if they can’t get there on that date or it’s rained out or whatever the tee time goes bye bye until the next year.
It’s not easy to become a volunteer, but that’s by far the easiest path to playing there. Otherwise you could become credentialed media for the masters. They all can play the course on Monday after the tourney.
Or become best friends/brothers/dad to a tour player who gets an exemption for the masters. They are allowed to bring a guest on their practice rounds.

I have not played the course this year.

That’s not true
ETA: you know how golf courses have a head greenskeeper? Well Augusta has a head greenskeeper for every single hole. I know a dude who became one. He said he was in the position for 3 whole years before he was invited to play a round

I got close once. One of the sales managers from a company I bought a lot from had one of his suppliers whose owner was a member. He wrangled an invite for him and one more, and his company president pulled rank and went.
He did get me on Shoal Creek the week after the PGA, which was really nice.
