Cousins played it. Uncles played it as a "thank you" for donating $20,000 each to a member's charity. Therefore, the current green fees at ANGC are , according to my calculations , right around $20,000.

Any who, cousin said that the course from the members tees is not that long. It's the ice glass greens that eat your lunch.

Never played, but went on Sunday 3 years in a row 2002-2004. I was stationed there, the base gets 100 badges. They raffle off each day so 400 people get to go a year. $30 if you win the raffle gets you in the gate.

Otherwise you could become credentialed media for the masters. They all can play the course on Monday after the tourney.

That’s a lottery draw. Credentialed media get to enter their names and are drawn at random to play the Monday after the final round.

Golf is gay. My buddy got tickets to it and tried to get me to go with him. I'm like, why the frick would I want to watch golf? Although I said it much nicer.

Feel free to prove me wrong, but this sounds like BS to me.

My uncle has played a few rounds there. He was the CFO of a major company. He said the dining experience is almost as surreal as the golf. Rarely anyone on the course. Although still amazing, it’s not the same as during the tournament due to the azalea not in bloom. Strict rules on cell phones, they cannot leave the locker rooms, even members must adhere to that rule. They were the only group in the dining room every time he went, yet the kitchen and dining room were fully staffed like a full restaurant. He is retired now, so the odds of me playing are zero, but he has gotten me tickets to the tourney on 2 occasions.

, of course it is. Roughly 30 media members get to play on Monday, caddie and all. That's about the extent of it.

My dad played a few years back. Played two rounds. First round they played form the member's tees. Obviously it was still hard, but he said he was still able to hit shots. The greens were still brutal, but he remembered being like "for Augusta National, that wasn't that bad". The next day they played the tournament tees. Whole different story . Can't remember the hole but he hit his approach shot in, landed it on the green and was feeling good. Long putt for birdie, but a putt none the less. Caddie tells him he will get a best a double. My dad is pretty shocked by this. Gets double

One cool thing, they had a camera and were able to take some pictures while they played. Mainly just on the bridge and stuff, nothing to really hold up play. Well, their caddy took the camera out without them knowing and took hundreds of pictures of them playing. They didn't see them until they got home and went through the camera. Was really cool of him. Some really good shots. They made a book out of them and wanted to send a copy of it and a thank you letter to the caddy they had. Call up Augusta National the Tuesday of Masters week, get transferred over to the pro shop, and they answer the phone like it is any other golf course on any other day. Told them where to send it and to who's attention. Pretty cool.

My uncle is a Horticulturalist who specialized in Golf Courses. He was able to get an intern position there and became good friends with another guy who is still on the grounds crew staff there.

Nope.
Plenty of millionaires are turned away every year wanting to play a round. The only way to play is to be a guest of a member.

This is true, but it used to be till Wednesday. Then the course closes for a while for repair.

Wrong again

Fact. Don't know the guy but he was pointed out while playing in Nola he wasn't that old from what I remember.

Another fact - a lot of the "members" are not members, they are corporate memberships. IE - CEO of IBM, ATT, and Coke all have memberships. Membership is given after many years and only upon recommendation of other members - Warren Buffet is not a member and has not been asked to be a member.

downvote me to oblivion - but I have played with one of those CEO's per him circa 2006 each member is given 54 holes a year and they can bring 7 guests (2 4somes) a year. Also tour pros cannot just show up they have to play with a member.

Why would someone downvote a guy shooting 77 from members tees?
