I bought 4 brand new Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season 19" tires for $700ish off eBay with free shipping. If you buy them when there is 4x or 5x eBay bucks they wind up being even less. On Tire Rack the same set was around $800 with $60 shipping charge.
ETA: Cost to mount and balance them was $20 at a local tire shop.

Bought 2 sets from tirebuyer, shipped em to firestone which had the cheapest install price. would use them again

Tirerack is great for research, but since they have a warehouse in LA, you pay shipping and tax. Then pay to have them mounted.
Discount Tire Direct is great too. Free shipping. Will have to pay to have them mounted, but usually still cheaper than a tire shop, particularly for specialty tires.

If you own normal everyday rims, just have it mounted at walmart, cheapest place you can get them mounted, balanced, and TPMS installed if you need (also the new valve).
On average I save ~$80-100 per 4 sets of tires on the accord, CR-V, 4Runner, Civic, Frontier, and RX350. I believe my brother saved closer to $150 on his Camaro.

Believe it or not, Amazon had the best price on tires when I priced them about a month ago and shipping is free for prime members. Discount Tire Direct and Tire Rack are both great. Tire Rack has a warehouse in Shreveport so they have to charge tax for LA residents.

Ordered a set on Tread Depot a couple weeks ago. Saved over $400 factoring in the rebate compared to the quote I got from Sam's. Kind of shocking because Sam's is usually hard to beat on tire prices.

I had a blowout on a leased vehicle and had to have an exact Bridgestone OEM replacement. The Firestone store wanted $250 for the tire installed. Tire Rack came in at half that, including shipping to their local installer.

By some slight chance you receive a defective tire from Tire Rack, it will be replaced, however you will have to wait for replacement tire, once they receive your defective tire back.
At a local dealer, you'll get a replacement tire right away. And if you wheel and deal enough, you can get a local dealer to match everything that is quoted online.

You order from tire rack and have the tires drop shipped to ur mechanic. They sit in the shop and you drive ur car over and he installs them. On a 250 Michelin you will maybe pay 175.

I did the same but from simpletire.com. They were cheaper than tirerack for the mudders I bought, and the price plus the mount and balance I paid to the installer was still twenty dollars cheaper per tire than he could get them.

Gotta be careful with this one. A lot of tire shops charge more for mounting tires that didn't come from them.
