yes, had it around age 30. Needed contacts/glasses again 20 years later but, I usually don't wear them my script before lasix was -2.5 in both eyes now it's like -.5. I also am old now and need reading glasses. Would definitely do it all over again. It is great but, it doesn't necessarily last forever.

44 was about exactly correct for me. I had 20/20 vision my whole life up until then. I still only need 1.25 readers at 46 and really only with small print or later in the evening.

~ 44 yrs when I had both eyes done. Left my prescription glasses on their counter when I walked out of the Eye Center on Veterans Hwy in Metairie after surgery. At 73, I now need reading glasses (1.25). My wife, me, and others we know all agree it was WELL worth the money.

I had it done about 11 years ago (around 46 y/o). Corrected to 20/20. I do not regret it one bit. I was close to being legally blind prior to.
Yes, I do wear glasses now for reading and driving at night.
Due to the surgery I am unable to wear contracts because the laser left part of my lens very thin.
If you get to do it then do it! Just take your time and choose the right doctor and right procedure for you … it’s the one thing you do NOT want to skimp on.

My mother got RK surgery in the mid 90's. In 2016 one of her eyes stated leaking from the cuts made during the surgery. She had to have a cornea transplant in that eye. It still hasn't fully recovered. Other than that everything was great.
That said I want LASIK for myself in at least my right eye. They no longer do the RK type surgery because the above was a common problem.

I did it this past Friday and got decent vision. The burn is def real but after a day nothing. I am a little worried my left is a bit more hazy than the right but they say it’s normal so I’ll accept it. Looking at the computer screen is pretty tough due to the lights though hope it goes away soon
