Anyone have Monovision LASIK procedure?

Tell me all about it...
I'm really torn here. My near vision is fine. My far vision is absolute shite. I'm 44 years old, so right at the age when the near vision may start going but from what I've learned, if I do full LASIK on both eyes, it'll make my near vision worse and the expectation would be to have readers when I'm on my phone or working on my laptop...and that sounds awful.
Monovision does seem like the perfect scenario to keep the near vision as well as improve the full distance vision. My concern is the roughly 20% or so of folks who just don't adapt well to the mono vision LASIK and basically go and get the 2nd eye done as well to get great full distance LASIK but again, the near vision goes to shite.
I want the Monovision LASIK but with the guarantee it'll be exactly what I need lol.

LASIK will not make your near vision worse. You may need readers one day, but it won't be hastened by LASIK.

I did a full lasik on both eyes and my near vision has been fine the entire time.

Everywhere I read says near vision issues will either possibly or will be more pronounced after full LASIK if your'e over 40-45.

As mentioned in the first reply, your near vision will not get affected. As you age, you will eventually need reading glasses. That can't be avoided, regardless of LASIK. Go full LASIK for your far vision. It was the best decision I made 2 years ago. not having to wake up and look around with contacts/glasses is such an incredible feeling.
The only thing I can say is that LEDs are a bit brighter when it's dark out. Some neon lighting as well can be bright, like the 7Brew building late at night on Essen.

Was told that but didn’t want to do that.
Good news is my near vision is bad too, so now we have readers and magnifying glasses all over the place
Before her surgery she had started bustin my balls about not being able read tiny labels and shite. Well, that stopped.

I had monovision correction 30 years ago. Best of both worlds in my opinion.
Others I know who have had both eyes done needed reading glasses immediately.
I can't see shite out of my corrected eye up close. Uncorrected eye still pretty good up close. Brain sorts it out pretty seamlessly.

How long did it take you to get used to it? I Have a buddy who I didn't realize had this too, and he said 30-45 days, which seemed longer than what I was told today. They told me it should be 2-3 weeks. My buddy said they told him it could take up to 6 months.

Needing readers when you get older is like death and taxes.

I don't remember it being any problem at all. Maybe sort of had to close the corrected eye just a bit at first to get the uncorrected one to take over up close. Just walking around no problem at all. I had my dominant eye corrected. Which I seem to remember was what you wanted to do.

No doubt that the mileage varies. Iirc she was told the same thing about it affecting near vision later on or possibly sooner but she wasn’t expecting it so soon after.
Fwiw she had really bad vision prior to first lasik many years ago and had gradually gotten worse again necessitating the last one.

Had both eyes done mid 30s. No issues with near-sighted vision becoming worse and I don’t remember warnings about that being a possibility. Only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner

fwiw, I tried the monovision contacts and they about drove me crazy.
Maybe try this before they start cutting on you.

Had new lenses implanted after cataracts. One is for distance vision, one close vision. I see fine but still need my readers in most situations.

I'm considering this surgery. My doctor won't do it without me successfully using the contact lenses that give the same vision correction for at least 3 months successfully. I think that's pretty standard, so you'd know if it'll work for you or not by the time you decided.
